In spite of everything... round two of the World Championship in Bahrain.
Let's see if this track creates more opportunities for better racing. And more important, let's wait and see what Liberty's plans are for 2021 and beyond.

I voted for Seb but a Kimi victory would be nice, wouldn't it?

Hard to see past the Merc but I’m hoping for a good race whatever the result. Mostly interested in the new plans for 2021 if I’m honest though I fully expect to be disappointed.....hope springs eternal though 👍

Would be great if Tiger could nail it this weekend.
Garcia hits five in water on 15. Oh dear.
PS: Great fan of Big Phil Lefty, too.

Some positive signs from Sakhir. Although still very vague, the basic proposals from Liberty are not all bad. Let's hope things will move in the right direction... And Ferrari genuinly fast in FP2. Are they up against the Mercs? It looks like it. Hopefully no grid penalty for Kimi's unsafe release. He's so unlucky all the time.

No doubt the glorified Chrysler Sales Manager will try to blame Kimi for the unsafe release . Sorry to say René, I am not impressed with what I have read about the new proposals. I'd really like to know how they intend getting the wake of the car to exit high above a following vehicle. No talk of reducing aero at all and we are stuck with these stupidly insipid things they call "power units", but some of the umpah! umpahs! have been removed because most fans haven't a clue what they are.

I was hoping for more detail on the new proposals, we haven’t really learned anything we didn’t know already have we? Let’s see how it develops.....I was really hoping the phrase ‘V12’ was going to be in there somewhere.....😂

Agreed it is all still very vague. However, there is serious talk about simplyfying the front wing already for 2019. The hybrids will stay yes, but if they can make them simpler and noisier it'll do I guess. I would have loved to see them freeing up the engine rules though. Only limitations on fuel consumption but how you do that should be free. Hybrid, V12, whatever. But let's see, hope against hope...
News from Sakhir: Hamilton gets grid penalty due to gearbox change and F1today has a 'scoop': 'RICCIARDO WILL REPLACE RAIKKONEN AT FERRARI IN 2019'. A source in the Bahrain paddock told F1Today.net: "Ferrari has shown interest for some time now and talks with Ricciardo accelerated after the Australian signed a letter of intent at the Scuderia. Ricciardo would love to be a Ferrari driver and he made up his mind. The deal is almost done. If everything goes right, he will sign a multiyear contract soon.” Nonsense?

Oooo that would be interesting, I’d love to see Ricciardo at Ferrari.

The basic proposals are well intended and there is reason for optimism. Time will tell whether the road paved with good intentions leads to heaven, hell, or somewhere in between. A purgatory in which Ecclestone, Mosley and Mackenzie are compelled to make restitution to the sport they degraded and abused would be nice. Just as with taxes, a proposed change is likely fair when the current beneficiaries yell bloody murder

Lewis' - new F1's connoisseur after Button's retirement - very 'tactile' opinion. Gotta say, with these specimens I'd be available to take a sabbatical from marriage...

Sorry guys, can't help myself: "Whooaa, Forza Ferrari! Front row lockout!" Not only happy as a Ferrari fan but also glad it seems this year won't be a Merc walk over. How wrong Autosport was again in their assesment with articles like 'How Ferrari has engineered itself into a hole' and 'Why Ferrari isn't the team Mercedes should fear'. Very annoying. Also impressive result by Pierre Gasly in the TR Honda, fifth place! And both Toro Rosso's faster than the McLarens. Painful and shameful for the once great Woking team.
