I have no idea how AJ Foyt's babyface space-cadet secured pole position.
Maybe this is a sign for Indycar of imminent collapse...
Regardless, all 28 cars qualifying within one second is very impressive!

I have no idea how AJ Foyt's babyface space-cadet secured pole position. Yep quite a surprise, I don’t think anyone saw that coming.. including Santino. But he did it. Was it a one-off, his eternal moment of fame? Or the first of many, in which case we must start taking him seriously at some point.

He's shown obvious skill occasionally, but either he tries too hard and messes up or Foyt's team hadn't equipped him with a race-winning car. It's possible both he and the team have improved, but my money's on someone less excitable.

A Modest Proposal
Two dry tyre compounds. One intermediate. One wet. Each Grand Prix divided in two or three heats totalling 200- 250 miles. Heats are 30 minutes apart and the winner is decided on aggregate time (it's been done) Only one pitstop allowed during each heat. A second disqualifies...

They should, but Pirelli and Firestone would exact a heavy price for being moved from center stage.
Who knew that racing was all about changing tyres?

The announcers mentioned that Foyt Racing has an arrangement with Penske to share organizational and set-up knowledge, some of which Ferruci claims to have accepted.

Milwaukee Mile 250Three races left in this championship. The double-header in Milwaukee and finally the race in Nashville. All oval races. Not necessarily in Álex Palou's favor, but I still expect him to win the championship. But still, Will Power's victory in Portland has given him a chance. Power has three wins to his name this season against two for Palou. It is still possible. Also Colton Herta could theoretically still become champion, but then Palou would have to score very badly in the last races. Interesting fact: Palou and Herta have this in common: Neither has won an oval race in this series!

It began as a dirt track for horses in the 1870s, hosted its first automobile race in 1903 and wasn't paved until 1953. The pioneer legend Barney Oldfield won at Milwaukee, as did modern legend Jim Clark! Located on the Wisconsin State Fairground, bratwursts are easily found.
The cars with long wheelbases that raced at the inaugural paved event were elegant. At the time, it wasn't unusual for all cars to have similar chassis and engines, in this case Offenhausers. Some companies built chassis, others built engines, and the teams chose the best combination for success.

Wisconsin, once famous for beer brewed by German immigrants, now provides great racing at Road America and the Milwaukee Mile, world class bratwurst and dairy products.
Once again, David Malukas makes Meyer Shank damn proud and Arrow McLaren remorseful.

Sensational win for Pato O’Ward and Will Power closing in on Alex Palou!

Race 2 was chaotic throughout. Alex Palou coasted to a stop on the pace lap with hybrid system electrical failure and polesitter Josef Newgarden was punted into the wall by an overeager rookie before the race even got the green flag.
Palou rejoined after losing more than 20 laps and the championship lead changed back and forth during the race. Will Power didn't help his chances by spinning out unaided in Turn 4 on one of the restarts.
Alexander Rossi, who hasn't won in several years, was in an excellent position on the final restart but faded badly, possibly ending his hopes for a ride next season.

It's going to be an exciting last race for sure! Will it be Will Power's third title or Álex Palou's third title?
