Hello chaps
My attention has been diverted by the Rugby World Cup, which has now come to a successful and heart warming conclusion, having cataracts removed which for a while gave me a rather one eyed view on things and selling and packing up our house for our imminent move to the UK. Now I have my visa we are good to go and should be in the UK by mid December.

yea, congratulations Rob, despite Scotland's failures I do consider this one of the most enjoyable World Cups I have ever watched, although the two semi-finals were for me, the best two games of the tournament and I look forward to welcoming Japan in 2020 for a couple of tests
that is good news Rob, glad to hear and would like to wish you the very best of luck with the move and I look forward to welcoming you to the UK soon

Congratulations are due for the World Cup, what a great tournament and the right result in the end (much as it pains me to admit). Once you’re settled in the UK we must meet up....perhaps you’d like to attend race retro in February, I expect Chris and myself will be popping along.

It is a huge upheaval moving home especially when one is changing countries or continents, my very best wishes for you and your family over the coming months. 2020 could well see many of us meeting up at some iconic venue or other in the UK which will be a momentous occasion I am certain. JC Rob, Best wishes for a pleasant, safe and successful move. As John Charles suggested, may all our journeys lead us to ideal places and momentous occasions resonant with good cheer and shared fellowship in the coming months.
Cheers, Carl

Many thanks all of you. I am looking forward to meeting face to face with as many of you as possible in the next year. February sounds very interesting Chris and Jamie though can't commit just yet.
Thank you all for the congratulations on the RWC result. It is a massive thing for South Africa and for the first time the team was representative of the diversity in our country and showed how we can all work together using our differences to make the whole stronger. This was in complete contrast to the politicians best efforts to polarise the country on racial grounds. For 80 mins everyone was South African and colour meant nothing. Oh how I wish it could always be like that, so much energy is lost on something that should not even be an issue.

ah my favourite detective of them all Joan Hickson and the marvellous Miss Marple, razor sharp and belonging to a much better world of murder and mayhem, hope all are well, even our long absent friends, the likes of Jamie and the Jim's whose presence is always missed ce la vie hope you are all surviving and prospering
as if in coincidence one of my favourite tracks has just come on sportify, shine on you crazy diamond, as I prepare to leap into the Guardian and make further comments that would compliment Syd

René may still be asleep after his odyssey, dreaming of alternative race results... Thanks for waking me up, Carl! I was having this weird and scary dream where Ferrari made this highly unlikely tyre strategy f***up at the Hungarian Grand Prix! Too unbelievable for even a bad fantasy movie... of course they will win this weekend!
