Amazing race and a well deserved victory for Max. Great recovery also for Ferrari, now leading the drivers and constructors championships! And surely party time at Mercedes this evening!

Thankfully this is another track that remains being a proper racetrack, with "grass on the wayside" - and gravel traps. It looks great :-)
Yes Mikael, but they have shortened it too much, they cut all the part beyond the Hella-Licht kurve, and the kurve itself. They cut also the Bosch and Rindt kurven.

UK C4 Coulthard & Edwards double act " it all come down to when Ferrari give the order for Raikonnen to let Vettel by", Jeez when will these fools stop!!! This current Ferrari Team management, which i have criticised in the past, really seem to know what is what, and did the correct thing. Mind you looking at Sebastian's demeanour after the race makes me wonder if he feels that Kimi should have been pulled over. He shouldn't , as Kimi drove superbly all day except for a few early lock up which may have been down to car issues.
Great win by Max i must say, so obviously he hasn't been traumatised by having to wear lederhosen. He did however continue his contact matters with others as he biffed Kimi's rear wheel during the overtake.
Good to see a return to the unpredictability of car retirements, but other than that not a memorable race for me especially after coming so close to the end off the MotoGP epic.

Does anyone have any details on the upgrade package that Mercedes have brought to Austria? I caught the tail end of something on Sky that seemed to be saying they'd brought a major aero upgrade, so together with the Version 2.1 power unit, and some earlier chassis upgrade work, the Mercedes was now going to be back to dominating the field. No details beyond a serious miscalculation of race distance

A welcome recovery for Ferrari and a collapse for Mercedes. Has the impressive performance upgrade stressed too many essential components?

The very young Verstappen still enjoys playing tag, a delicate game at speed. A well deserved win nonetheless for a certain future champion.

No details beyond a serious miscalculation of race distance Obviously! On a more serious note Jim, the Mercs had revised bargeboards, floor, rear wing and sidepods so a major aero upgrade.

Yes, a risky move on Kimi but it turned out to be the winning move. Had he not passed Kimi then it would have been very difficult to get past the Ferrari later. It was a strong race by the young Dutchman.

The most impressive pass was by Vettel, setting up Hamilton all the way as they approached Turn 3.

Marko had his on from the outset but Horner only had his on for the post race interviews, maybe they are banned in the pit lane during the race . Interestingly Mateschitz himself did not partake in the play act of pseudo Austrian heritage. I somehow find it hard to believe that if Kimi or Hamilton were RB drivers that they would wear said clothing.

Finally a direct confrontation between the two title candidates! I would normally agree on Kimi fading in the second half of the race but I am actually not so sure this time. He drove a good race and had still strong pace at the end.
