Brilliant! Rene, You are the creator and administrator of this resplendent website and might feel differently if you had lederhosen to award to those who predict race winners. There's an idea Carl! A lederhosen for the winner and an orange McLaren pair of flip-flops for the losers!

Or a pair of lederhosen for the winner and two pairs for the losers

It's looking incredibly close between Ferrari and Mercedes in FP3 with Vettel beating the Mercs by a fraction. The Red Bulls a bit further back. Hopefully the electrical problems Max had will not compromize his qualy. The Haas cars look good also and Leclerc impressive as always. Bring it on!

Grrr#<¥|#{/?€!!! Not the qualy result I hoped for. A Merc front row lock out and a grid penalty for Vettel. Good qualy for Haas and Grosjean and deserved pole for Bottas. But anything can happen, Forza Ferrari!

Hats off to Romain today, a great performance, much more in keeping with the ability we know he has. Looks like McLaren are running their Flip Flops too low at the front, the beach is obviously too rough in Austria. MB front row "lock out" not good, but predictable. Will Bottas repeat his none jump start this year .

No doubt Bottas is wonderful guy etc and so on and so forth, but Jesus H. he so meek! You always wonder whether he's got blood running in his veins.
Anyways, merit to him for being quicker than Hamilton, but that is the sign the car (Merc) is on top in Austria, for me.
Ferrari won't win the championship this year too. You can ask account for my prediction at the end of the year. My view is consolidating towards the fact Herr Vettel does not make the difference. That is the trait of an ace, such as the counterpart Lewis Hamilton, Esq.

Ferrari won't win the championship this year too. You can ask account for my prediction at the end of the year. My view is consolidating towards the fact Herr Vettel does not make the difference. That is the trait of an ace, such as the counterpart Lewis Hamilton, Esq. Mark Webber said the following in Jan. 2014, just after Vettel had claimed his fourth championship: "Do you know what?" Webber said, "I think Seb will do everything early in life. "He's got his championship titles and his results early, he's going to have a kid early and I think he'll retire early -- he'll probably take a blast in the red car, then sayonara." (Ref: www.motorsport.com/f1/news/webber-predicts-early-retirement-for-vettel/)Vettel might have topped then (in 2013) as a driver; i.e. he was as good in 2013 as he was ever going to be. He's still an outstandingly good Grand Prix driver, of course. But maybe not better than he was five years ago.

I believe we have seen enough and I say it all: ditch Vettel and give it to Ricciardo.
At the very least, he's clearly much, much hungrier. What more do you need, Marchio'? And most likely a better driver.
Vettel can keep his four championships, when the only challenge was er... Mark Webber. On a Newey's spaceship.

although Nigel Roebuck isn't the most popular of journalist on this forum he still occasionaly writes good pieces for AS- and he reflects on an interview with the old warrior Niki, who, if anyone should run F1 it needs to be him - talking of why F1 is so sanitised [lawyers = fear ] and why no matter how good at marketing Liberty are -they are not motor racers and need to stay out, it was a typical refreshing interview and all the enjoyable for it

in the same week in AS Jonathon Noble whom I never really bonded with also gives a good start to a piece on F1 and TV, comparing it and basically saying it needs to improve, well, when it goes totally sky and the audience continues to disapear, maybe then the old phrase "too little too late" will ring out

Does anyone have any details on the upgrade package that Mercedes have brought to Austria? I caught the tail end of something on Sky that seemed to be saying they'd brought a major aero upgrade, so together with the Version 2.1 power unit, and some earlier chassis upgrade work, the Mercedes was now going to be back to dominating the field.

Thankfully this is another track that remains being a proper racetrack, with "grass on the wayside" - and gravel traps. It looks great :-)

Alonso always taking the best out of himself. Complaining.
Whatever, mate.
Get lost, once and for all.
