Cringeworthy news from the F1 world today; AlphaTauri has been rebranded to the fantastic name Visa Cash App RB! Yes really, Visa Cash App RB. I wonder what the commentators will call the cars! It is also fantastic that we get another street circuit, this time in Madrid at the expense of Barcelona. Within 10 years we will have 16 races in the Middle East and 16 races in major cities. With a bit of luck they will build a copy of Monza or Spa in Saudi Arabia with an augmented reality scenery. Nice. And even more fantastic are the reports that Suzuka could also lose its place on the calendar at the expense of a street circuit in Osaka. Liberty Media is really fantastic for the sport….

Cringeworthy indeed...
The RB stands for Red Bull, so marko and horner would be responsible if they didn't deflect every substantive question...
Is Liberty Media mirroring ecclestone's obsession for massive unearned profits? Billionaires and ambitious megalomaniacs could easily make motorsport unrecognizable. For enough money, you can have a Grand Prix in your backyard. Tilke Engineering has a convoluted circuit for you...

This predilection for street circuits and deserted deserts will eventually have an impact on the supply chain for new drivers. They will have no permanent circuits within easy reach of motorsport infrastructure. Get in, make shedloads of money, get out of the collapsed building. Liberty and Ecclestone.

Absolutely, and there is no one to protect the sport with its unique history, unique character and beautiful classic circuits. Everything is traded for money.

From "The Race" (www.the-race.com)
This seems to be a proper assessment. Had the team been rebranded "more moderately", say, to "RB Visa" probably nobody would have blinked an eye ...
To go back to "Toro Rosso" (e.g. "Visa/Toro Rosso") might also have worked well. To include "Cash App" in the name is really a step too far. Curious that they don't find it sufficient to just write it (Cash App) in large letters on the car.

It's a terrible name. Nothing in this name refers to a race car brand. With Toro Rosso and even AlphaTauri you could call the car just that. But with this, should we call the cars RB? Or Visas? Or Crash Apps? It's terrible.

Good new of the day, Charles has extended his contract with the Scuderia! Not a surprise but I'm happy.

F! for me is in a parlous state, too many poor races, too few winners or competition and as you say too many desert tracks and more street circuits, I can't see this season being an improvement and yet I do and will always live in hope that finally one day sense may prevail,

A bit of fun. A hot lap with first Liam Lawson and then Alex Albon on the Nordschleife, just between the amateurs and would-be pros. It's fun clips like this that make you realize how incredibly good these guys can drive. Formed and trained since their early youth, it is only a handful of drivers who reach the absolute top. And they are exceptionally good.

Formula One has become a billionaire boys club, with adolescents toto and helmut restricting membership to those willing to pay Mercedes and Red Bull for the privilege.
No-one else need apply
One more good reason to look elsewhere than Formula One

What a terrible self interest driven decision. I hope the bottom falls out of the F1 market and the teams drop substantially in value. I would much prefer Andretti F1 to the X formerly Alpha Tauri et al and HAAS who have done nothing. Sauber formerly Alfa Romeo as well.
