This is such a stunning image I have to put it forward and I do not think René will disprove .
What a shame you can only like a post once! Yes that is a very cool picture. It doesn't get more Formula One than this, does it. Elegance and raw power captured in one image. Gilles, the Prince of Destruction.

I consider the Lotus 30 perhaps the most beautiful sport racer. These two pictures were taken at the 1964 Los Angeles Times Grand Prix at Riverside and show Jim Clark just before the first apex of Turn 7 and then as he's drifted out in anticipation of the second apex and the short straight leading to Turn 8. I believe Colin Chapman never yearned to have a big American V-8 in one of his cars, almost a blindness or antipathy, and as a result the Lotus 30 and 40 never came right. 😁 that is a beast alright Carl. I’ve seen that at Goodwood a couple of times spitting flame and barking up the hill.....very impressive.

Some mouth-watering Ferrari from Goodwood.... The 312T, though gorgeous, is a little over restored in my opinion. My favourite is the Sunoco 512 👍 For some reason I can't find my pictures of the exquisite P4 that was alongside it.....I'll post them if they show up. The first image is a 312B3 by the way. Pretty car though!

I need to bone up on my seventies Ferrari type numbers 😁 I had it down in the caption as a 75 car but it must have been earlier?

This is the 1974 car that almost took Gianclaudio Regazzoni to the world title (although this is Niki's car). The 1975 car, the 312T was the first Ferrari with a transverse gearbox, hence the T (transversale in Italian). The T also had different sidepods, a narrower nose and in general easy recognizeable by the white high airbox. Still quite sure the car behind Bell in the F2 is a 1975 312T.

I worship at the alter of your Ferrari knowledge Rene 👍 I'll have a look through my pictures and see if I can find some pictures of the T. I took so many that day, I've obviously mislabelled some They were all beauties, theres no doubt about that.....

Why do wife’s not understand a Motorsport obsession??? Well, in all fairness, mine is a darling and she never complains about my obsession.

Why do wife’s not understand a Motorsport obsession??? Well, in all fairness, mine is a darling and she never complains about my obsession. 😁 Mine too René, I think she finds my Motorsport / car obsession endearing and allows me to indulge fully......though she definitely doesn’t understand it. Many is the time she’s openly laughed at me for getting animated and shouting at the TV during a race, usually quoting ‘its only a race’.........as Steve McQueen told us, it’s so much more than that.....
