Yep LH's behaviour was less than edifying. He wasn't on the pace all weekend but by the way he behaved it couldn't have had anything to do with him. VB had much more to complain about. He was in second place and this was the second time this season that he had a pit stop problem and the third time in less than nine races. The only problems LH has had have been down to the nut that holds the steering wheel. Charles Leclerc's behaviour was in stark contrast to LH's and I am sure the Ferrari team will work all the harder to make sure it doesn't happen again. Worker Bees are attracted more by honey than vinegar. I really think this is the first time Mercedes have been put under real pressure and don't have an answer. Tonto said to Kravitz that Mercedes were not bringing any more big updates this year as they have switched most of their attention to 2022. Arrogance knows no bounds!

I watched the Peter Windsor review of the Monaco Grand Prix and whilst he was full of praise for Max, Charles, Carlos and Lando he didn't mention Lewis once. Interesting because he is usually most fullsome in his praise for LH.

I think it is a very good point about the lack of actual racing at Monaco should it exclude it from future GP's, only if they can widen it or change its layout to ensure this is possible then you have to question it, the Historic GP is [usually] drawing huge crowds and TV coverage, is far less intrusive and their is plenty of overtaking [and money] so maybe that is the future.
I followed in on Crash TV text coverage and my word that sounded more exciting than the race itself, which is a shame as the skills they need to drive around the place at those speeds is considerable, I did watch the youtube highlights and after the first couple of laps switched over, pit stops aren't my bag,
Lewis's reactions was interesting, win together? lose it's your fault? is that what was being said? all winners detest losing, that is why they are winners, however it is how we deal with disappointment that marks us as who we really are, not sure who said that but it seems to ring true, After an initial disappointment the defeated greet the winner with applause and a vow to do better next time.
Damm it, Last time I wanted a Ferrari to do well was a very long time ago and here I am wishing a Ferrari would win, I do so hope so, they have a marvellous team of drivers and deserve so much success.

It was a huge disappointment to begin with. The initial news re. Charles's car was good and then it wasn't. That was a hard blow for Charles, for the team and for the tifosi. But in the end, Charles had only himself to blame as it was he who put the Ferrari in the barriers on saturday. But it was heartbreaking to see Charles get out of the car knowing it was over. He was never lucky in his home race so far, also not in the lower formulae. The way he conducted himself afterwards was sheer class. The race itself was not the most exciting Monaco Grand Prix but it is spectacular to watch the cars in the streets anyway. A very good win for Max and Red Bull as a team maximized a weekend where Mercedes was not on form with also a good drive by Pérez. I've been critical about Max before but I am impressed by the way he has matured and developed as a driver and as a person. He could be a bit blunt and say silly things or do dangerous moves but we must not forget how ridiculously young he was. Too young. He seems more mature now and consequently a better driver.
So so happy for Carlos and he saved the weekend for Ferrari. That was a top class drive and Carlos is the one who has adjusted best so far to his new environment. A good match between the Spaniard and Ferrari, that is clear.
Also great drive again by Lando Norris and the three of them, Max, Carlos and Lando made a wonderful podium. The disappointment for Charles remains but the end result was nice nevertheless. Lando is 'carrying' McLaren alone at the moment so Danny must up his game and must do that fast before it becomes uneasy...
Happy to see Sebastian go well again. That was the drive and result you would expect from a 4 time World Champion in a mediocre car. Yep, strong drive. Also again a good drive by Pierre Gasly!
Here is the Vettel/Gasly moment seen from Seb's car. Not much room left!
And a word for Valtteri who was the best Mercedes driver this weekend and drove strong before the pit stop mess. He is very unlucky and really doesn't deserve that.

And upwards they are going! And what a great guy Carlos obviously is. He had a super match with Lando at McLaren and now that also seems to work with Charles. That is so good for the team, just wonderful.

It was interesting hearing Brundle and Croft trying to "sell" Monaco as a great event, even suggesting that drivers should be prepared for different challenges. For me the challenge is in the qualifying at this place, the race is usually a processional bore broken up only by the pitstops or some sort of mechanical frailty.
As Chris quite rightly says above overtaking at Monaco can happen in the Historic Festival although it was a challenge with the 1970's cars, but he is right, smaller more nimble cars can do it but in the current trucks it is impossible.
I also agree with you René in that Max has matured both as a driver and a person, yes there will always be rough edges with him as that is in his personality but I liked what I saw of him this past weekend. He has a long standing intense rivalry with Charles but he was very fair in his interviews after qualifying, especially when the idiots in the press started suggesting that someone who crashes in qualifying should loose pole position if it brings it to a close prematurely.
For me the people who have not come out of this weekend are the clowns in the motoring media, their comments and actions are contemptible and they need to be called out. I doubt that we would have been hearing about the "possibility" of Charles deliberately crashing if it had bot been for Michael Schumacher's actions all those years ago, it has never occurred prior to that as it was never considered.

Oh my, dear old Max Mosley has left us at the age of 81.
Not an unimportant character in the history of Formula 1. A real character and an intelligent man from a rather interesting background. And Bernie's partner in crime for many years of course.

Which one is the Dutch clown?
Carl, I was referring to Olav Mol from Dutch tv channel Ziggo Sport. He was the F1 commentator during the Jos days and now again with Max. Inbetween there was hardly any F1 on Dutch tv. Mol is a self-righteous know-it-all who knows nothing. He got a second life with the rise of Max and now thinks he's the king of F1.
Dutch pit reporter Jack Plooij is no better and talks like a child. In almost every driver interview he tries to be funny by saying "you can say fuck on Dutch tv, haha". Yesterday I saw a short interview with Carlos Sainz who was asked by Plooij what it was like to drive around Monaco at these speeds. Carlos said it asked full concentration and confidence upon which Plooij said in his typical blunt manner: "so you need very big balls?". Carlos replied calm but clearly not amused: "well, you may call it that but I would say it needs courage". Class act, Carlos.
A few days ago there was the news here that Ziggo Sport lost the F1 rights to a Scandinavian group. I really hope they don't hire this clown duo for the Dutch comment...
Having been a disc jockey, no wonder he's a clown!

This is not only a brilliant little film which seems to be one of a regular thing with these guys but clearly illustrates the developing bond between these two. As with Lando Norris at McLaren last year Carlos shows what he brings to a team which is something are in these times. Not only is he a brilliant driver, possibly a great one in the making but an amazing character. I have a feeling that these two are going to form one of the sports greatest pairings, just like Jim & Graham in 1967; Ronnie & Emerson in 1973; Ronnie & Mario in 1978 and Gilles & Jody in 1979/80.

Carlos is a genuine good guy who is clearly investing in a long term stay at Ferrari. I watched several clips of Lando and Carlos when he was still at McLaren and they are often quite funny. Carlos has a very dry sense of humor.

Liked or disliked Max Mosely was certainly well-known, he was a brilliant orator whether for good or not is debatable, he spearheaded a lot of good work around road-safety and tried in many a misguided attempt to reduce the risks in motor sport as well, but one thing is for certain he made changes
