A truly beautiful compliment, and one would expect nothing less from Sebastian these days. Some weeks ago he commented that in his opinion Charles would be the leading driver over the next ten years. I some how don't think Charles will change, his pleasant and honest personality is set, he won't waste his talent or become Mr Grumpy. My big hope is that he will form a relationship with Carlos like Ronnie and Emerson, and Jim & Graham had all those years ago. In other words great pals off track but fierce and respectful opponents on track. This is what will make Ferrari great again. Your last words were inspirational so I have my caps ready for next racing season! I realise now that I have used inadvertently some of the sound bite of the Orange idiot, totally unintended and my apologies if it looks that way. However I honestly believe that these two boys are going to be one of the great driver pairings, they will ideally compliment one another in so many ways. beautiful baseball caps René, are you marketing them .

Those words were abused by a pompous fool, so to use them in a sensible way is a service to language.

Strangely enough I read that article by Mark Hughes, Chris. I don't frequent MS much these days but as I was stuck for something to do while enjoying my first cuppa of the day I went on and read the feature. Mark doesn't appear to be the biggest fan of Perez, driving wise basically describing him as the Fizzy Drinks equivalent to Bottas at MB. He could well be correct, as I have mentioned previously Checo has only really out driven one driver he has been paired against and that is Stroll. Hughes actually alluded to that but then said that Stroll was relatively inexperienced, really! How many seasons has Stroll been in F1 now? I think Checo will be a strong team member and will challenge Verstappen through better consistency over the length of the season. Mark Hughes seems to think that Hamilton and Verstappen are on a different level to all the others, another misconception in my view as Charles Leclerc is probably better than both of them. I doubt that either could have extracted the performance Leclerc did out of this years lamentable Ferrari. I also feel that George Russell in that one off ride in the Benz rather placed a few holes in Hamilton's waterline. One other thing there is another issue concerning Verstappen and that is the claim he has destroyed every team mate; he has not. It was very close between him and Ricciardo, maybe a tenth or so in qualifying but race performance was very close. This was also at a time when Verstappen was very much the favoured driver, hence the reason Daniel left the team. Also when Verstappen was paired with Carlos Sainz at the then Toro Rosso, very little in it; and now Carlos is an even better and more complete driver than he was at that time.

John, I got the impression that Mark was being careful about any comments about Stroll and less so about Checo, who is a good number one and half or number two driver, solid and dependable and I maintain he will do a good job a the Fizzy drinks, I wonder if they have to drink it as well? his tyre management is very good. Bottas can be quick and on straight pace I think is quicker than Checo but still needs less 'structure'

Rene, there is more hope than interest at the moment, I still miss F1 and hope your beloved red cars do a great job next year,
is this what you meant Carl? 60 years ago with the demise of the rear-engined beauties and the introduction of a new group of racers -

Chris, I know it's more about hope. But I do have the feeling that this new generation of drivers has sparked more interest again, also from those whose interest diminished.
And maybe, just maybe the new rules for 2022 will produce better 'raceable' cars. There is always hope!
