Last evening I spent another hour or more looking at YouTube films on my big TV screen and came across this excellent quite new film of the "new" Zandvoort Grand Prix circuit. Captured by Drone camera it follows a lap of the circuit from an aerial perspective and really illustrates what could well be a great track. To my way of thinking it captures much of the old circuit and really does look very good indeed, no hint of Tilke . Obviously there is still a lot of construction work to be done which can be seen from the film. I hope that it manages to keep some of the old school elements that can be seen in some parts of the track; almost a feel of Suzuka in some places which is no bad thing.

Great clip. I hadn't seen this one yet but I'm following the progress closely and it is really looking good. I think the idea of the banked corners will work very well.
And yes, there is still this old school feel and I am sure it won't be completely lost as the people in charge wanted this. There's a reason they didn't invite Herr Tilke!

They did well in keeping Herr Tilke away from the project. I like what I have seen so far and it will be massive for the Dutch people; I wonder if the home crowd will give Max one second per lap as Mansell claimed the home UK crowd did him . As a comparison to the drone footage of the new circuit I have attached a similar drone film that was produced to show where the old original track went, sad to see that a golf course and housing estate (or similar) has overgrown what once was. I find these drone film camera works to be really interesting as i have only recently started in the hobby myself. As a photographer I had become increasingly interested in the aerial footage that drones could produced, so just had to have a go myself. So many opportunities for good and different photographs and film; great fun flying these devices as well; and the technology involved is amazing.

to begin with I thought, mmm yea this looks good, a circuit I would like to drive / ride on, then I saw the old circuit and my confidence lessened but my thoughts of what a brilliant circuit it was and then I looked at the revised circuit again and think, yea, this looks good man, I would have liked to come out for the GP but that is sold out, I am guessing for a few years but maybe I might look for another event, as it looks like a circuit I would like to visit, may even bring the golf clubs!
