Imagine you had good seats at Interlagos. The beautiful blue sky on race morning promises a perfect day when suddenly the sun is slowly eclipsed by a massive red banner held aloft by hundreds of hands and billowing for everyone to see. Except you. And others who also are beneath. None of you can see anything. Because of its size, the banner tends to remain unfurled and you can't complain because the evil spirit of Eugenio Dragoni, brimming with malevolence, may be lurking nearby. So you watch the Grand Prix on your 5" smartphone, grateful to avoid sunburn. Attachment Deleted

LOL.
In the '70s they used water cannons to cool down the spirits of the Brazilian torcida on the stands.
Now, imagine finding yourself there with your best dress for the occasion and get soaked, only because the weather is too hot...

Gentlemen, don't know how it was for you but I was very happy with the Brazilian Grand Prix result! ForzaFerrariAfter a four month drought, it was a well deserved Ferrari victory. Also happy for Felipe with a worthy farewell result. Much better than his crash last year.

Must confess that I haven't seen a second of the race. I didn't even know at what time it was, yesterday evening I was asking myself when it was on, opened BBc web page by chance and discovered that Vettel had won...
Let's hope for a competitive championship next year, but I think Hamilton will be difficult to dislodge.

I think the races since and including Singapore have been very interesting and could be a portend of 2018. We have had three competitive teams and at least one competitive driver from each of those teams. The other teams may have caught up a bit as well. I loved the Brazilian GP because I enjoy that track, it is like a speed bowl and has both super fast and super slow and follows the contours of the land. In fact I enjoy all races on old school tracks no matter what the result. I think next season will be even better than this and I am pretty sure the halo will not be as bad or as disruptive as people think. How many close up, front on shots where it will be really noticeable will you see anyway? However, I do believe that the halo will add more expense than just the unit cost as all the teams will be spending exhorbitant amounts relative to the gain on all the aero surrounding the halo and the helmet.

This exchange had me in stitches (and I'm supposed to be working...):
Ray: Well, you're upset at me, aren't you? I'll email you as long as you're no longer pissed and angry at me.
Rob: i never say pissed and angry for long so no i am not but i want to chat to you offline
Ray in person must really be something.
I see Ray has mentioned our blog and all our names on the MotorSport site for some reason-probably to make a point re people leaving the blog.

Rob, I am sure not all the racers seated on our table will agree with you but I do. We're absolutely on the same page regarding modern F1. It has a lot of flawes and could be so much better but there is still a lot to enjoy also. It would be great if we had a three team battle next year with maybe a dark horse from Woking...

Except me! 😀 I hope I haven’t upset dear old Ray at some point. Been a little off grid lately due to a ridiculous deadline at work so just reading some of the posts from the last couple of weeks........I must say chaps, some marvoulous discussions going on - the knowledge on display is mind blowing 👍 A belated welcome to Lucio from me. I know we had a little spat there a while ago on the MS forum but I hope it’s behind us now. Really enjoying your posts on here and just checked out the Ferrari exhibition you mentioned at the design museum, I shall be booking tickets for that one shortly!

Hi Jamie, which spat? No worries.
The environment there sometimes did put me on the edge. Here is much more relaxed, I don't even care whether to be right or wrong... just a good chat.
Cheers, Jamie

Cheers, Jamie Absolutely Lucio, this is a great place to talk racing. Did you make it to the John Watson talk a couple of weekends back? I looked it up after you mentioned it on the MS forum but unfortunately all tickets were gone. A pity as it was held about 2 miles from my house! On the mailing list for info on the next one 👍

Rene,
just a a quick comment as I am endeavouring to keep up to speed with all the "racers" comments. I sincerely trust that all will not be joining from the Motorsport forum as we will then have to begin another .
After Rob mentioned Ray letting the cat out of the bag, I had to check it out to see it for myself. I actually wonder what the guys at MS Think if they actually notice.
Jamie great to see you back and do not feel left out by Ray's omission of your name from his list, I think it was probably a case of him firing from the hip in his utter frustration of how he feels right now.

Thanks Charles. Silly deadlines at work have kept me away for a bit.
Poor Ray really does seem to have boiled over lately, I understand his frustration but I really don't see the one-sided anti-vettel stuff he keeps stating?? Sure some are obviously biased for Hamilton but thats equally true of Vettel (Ray himself, although more anti-Hamilton) and plenty of anti-Hamilton also.
Its all got far to tetchy on MS.
