I’d love to read that book Lucio, do you know if there’s an English translation? I’ll have to look into that. Yep, me too.

Jamie, unfortunately not translated, I have checked on Amazon and on the author's website. A shame, really a great book. It was first published in 2001, I read it at the time.
I am going to translate this chapter, to give an idea how good it is: That would be wonderful Lucio! I didn't want to stop reading the part you translated, it's fascinating.

Look forward to that Lucio. Same as René, I really enjoyed the piece you posted. My knowledge definitely needs improving regarding this era.

That was awkward. The podium with Lewis asking Valtteri to step on the top step reminded me of Austria 2002. Only Vettel was smiling on the podium! But the Championship seems over and done now with the Merc clearly faster than the Ferrari. Best drives of the day for Max and Charles, no question. Max was 12th after lap 1 and in the top 6 by lap 7. It showed the gap between the top teams and the midfield but also how good Max is compared to Daniel. Top drive and happy birthday Max! Charles was fantastic also. These two will fight for championships in the near future for sure. Verstappen did drive brilliantly (no Ver-crash-en this time), but his advantage over Ricciardo was exaggerated by the first lap damage to Ricciardo's car. Ricciardo did well to (quietly) work his way into 6th. Not as spectacular as Verstappen, but just as effective. Le Clerc, I agree with your assessment, that was a very good drive to get into 7th, and run unchallenged to the flag. Also not as spectacular as Verstappen but deeply impressive for a driver in his first season.

I too would be interested Lucio, that sounds a fascinating book, I do have quite a few MotorSports from the 50's and they are interesting reading, especially as Jenks was an Ascari fan and thought him a better driver than Fangio, who of course Stirling thought was the best, one thing I do know - they were all bloody good
