Oh please no Chris! That would be a very bad move for Sauber (and Alfa) if they are really serious about moving up the grid. I do wish Lance all the best but I hope he strolls out of F1 asap! There is little reason to wish the best for someone who consistently demonstrates the worst. I hope Lance Stroll enjoys all the success he deserves and thus remains miserable.
Haha, yes of course Carl. Lance's driving abilities are by far not good enough to be an F1 driver and his spoiled whining is annoying. Just tried to say something positive!

From recent moves I seem to think that Sauber Alfa Ferrari are on the way up, as opposed to Williams on the way out. They are going to be the feeder team to Ferrari Fiat along with young Leclerc and another Ferrari Fiat new boy will be very strong.
Stroll is one of the worst pay drivers I have ever seen in all the years i have followed motor sport, his attitude is just typical of the modern day spoilt brat. When you see him and his filthy rich father it almost wants to make one a communist!!
To quote a very well known and respected team owner who I once had the great pleasure to meet (ex F1 small team and very successful in other categories) "he couldn't drive a stick up a dogs backside" (last word politely corrected from the original example) when referring to a rich South American pay driver in the British Aurora F1 series.

I knew that, Rene, because you are gracious, but a scientific theory postulates that we all have a certain quota of niceness during our lifetimes. Won't you feel silly to have wasted any on Lance Stroll?
We curmudgeons are often misunderstood when all we are doing is conserving niceness.
Cheers, Carl

Cheers, Carl Brilliant Carl. I knew there was a reason for me being a curmudgeon, I just didn't think I was nice enough to notice. I am set up for a good week now.

Or maybe neutralize it with a very unpleasant remark?

Carl, this is a saying i would like to borrow if i may, at work tomorrow.... Of course you may. Remember, as John Wayne would caution, to "smile when you say that, pilgrim".

ah but Carl, as usual the line was borrowed - this time from the classic Virginian in 1929, by a snarling Coop to a sneering Walter Huston "smile when you call me that " - Walt did

While Lance Stroll's position is secure, no matter what, apparently, that of Brendon Hartley now hangs in the balance according to several news sites. He deserved the chance he finally got, and it would be a real pity if it's over before he finds his feet in F1.

While Lance Stroll's position is secure, no matter what, apparently, that of Brendon Hartley now hangs in the balance according to several news sites. He deserved the chance he finally got, and it would be a real pity if it's over before he finds his feet in F1. Mikael, I read some of the stories about Brendon Hartley being at risk before the Monaco GP which is very disappointing in the extreme. He has done far less "wrong" than Verstappen during the course of the first part of the season and when things have been going well for him he is the equal of the highly talented and regarded Pierre Gasly. It smacks of the typical malevolent influence of Dr Marko who should have been put out to pasture himself long ago. Hartley was flying in Free Practice at Monaco but the settings went away from him in qualification, and all things considered he was going very well in the race until taken out by the brake failure on Leclerc's Sauber Ferrari Fiat Alfa. With regard to Stroll, not only is he a spoilt brat but he suffers from seriously bad parenting on behalf of his filthy rich father. A good parent would have made Stroll Jnr work his way through the lower categories without money being thrown at him from every possible angle. How can anyone have respect for an individual that gets into F1 by being given the best of everything. If we look into the past, let us take Peter Revson for example. He was heir to the Revlon Cosmetics empire; however he was given not one cent in his quest to become a race driver, neither was his brother Doug. They had to work their way through the ranks on merit and by their own means. Peter became a top class Grand Prix driver and gained his McLaren drive on merit, plus great respect from all in the sport. Even if Stroll had a fraction of Revvie's talent and ability I doubt he would ever have the respect of anyone, save the sycophants within the Williams organisation. His father has done him no favours what so ever and in two years time we will have forgotten about his off spring.
