Stunning. The Proton Porsche 963 in this throwback livery, a tribute to the 1994 Le Mans winning Porsche. The new Alpine A424 also looks very good.

Indeed a very good looking Proton Porsche 963. However, I liked the little detail seen last year, with black painted parts behind the side windows, resembling 911 rear side windows. That "nice little touch" is lost with the all-black top part.

That "nice little touch" is lost with the all-black top part. Yes true, that is a nice styling element. But the works/Penske team hasn’t shown their livery yet so it might stay. This is the 1994 car. It also has the black roof.

At the behest of fashion magnate Jochen Dauer, whose street-legal 962 served as Porsche's basis to enter the GT category, the massive cockpit surround concealed a gentleman's wardrobe
F.A.T. Turbo > fat car
Nonetheless, avoiding a Maginot Line in the regulations, Porsche's zeppelin conversion 962 won!

Although completely trivial information , for those who are interested; F.A.T. International is a platform celebrating the rich history of motorsport..., owned by Ferdi Porsche. F.A.T. was once a logistics company, known for sponsoring two Le Mans winning cars. Today, the group aims to celebrate automotive culture by hosting its own events, including winter festivals and its F.A.T. Ice Races, in both Zell am See and Aspen. That's very cool! His successes on snow gave Gilles Villeneuve incredible car control
I'd never heard of Ferdi Porsche, great-grandson of Ferdinand, but clearly a love of motorsport continues through the generations.
Looking a second time and more closely at the 1994 overall winner, it does resemble the patriarchal 956/962, one of the most beautiful prototypes of all time, with moderate heft and pounds added here and there. Still, I prefer sports racing cars to be lean and mean.

It was an unusual win in a way with an ‘old’ car. From Wiki: The 1994 race was won by a car that had its roots in a 10-year-old design. Porsche exploited an unusual quirk in the GT regulations at the time, using German fashion magnate Jochen Dauer in a plan to have a street-legal version of the dated Porsche 962 built. Using this road car design, Porsche entered two converted 962 chassis in the GT category as Dauer 962 Le Mans. With factory support, the Dauer 962 was able to take the win, the other 962 coming in a close third. Yannick Dalmas, Hurley Haywood and Mauro Baldi decisively taking command with two hours to go.
