Herr Doctor has asserted his power again: De Vries out and Danny Ric in. A short lived F1 career for Nyck and a weird comeback for Daniel, or do they promise Checo's seat if he does a descent job next to Yuki? So the days when Red Bull's team #2 functioned as a test-bed for young, up-and-coming talents seem to be over ... With that move, it seems like it's all just about harvesting as many points as possible, also for the "junior team".
It seems like it. Okay, Nyck was not showing what was expected of him but it still feels very harsh to sack him this early in the season. Typically Red Bull. But I think there's more to it. I believe they are not content with Pérez. Not only Horner and Marko but also Max is not happy with Checo and would prefer Daniel as teammate. They get along better while Max knows he has him covered. They will now try to bring Ricciardo up to speed again. He hasn't raced since his last race with McLaren so will be a bit rusty in that regard. So for 2024; Checo out and Danny Ric in at RB. Danny will most likely have to sign a #2 contract but he will be in a top car again.

Max is only nice when he’s winning. If next year’s car is a dog, we’ll see another Max again. I doubt Max was ever taught to be nice. He's nice in an awkward, almost reluctant, way. I suspect he may have been spanked as a child for being nice. A rather strong comment from former Red Bull driver Jaime Alguersuari about Jos and Max: "His father, through violence, taught him to win races. He was trained that way. There was no happiness. They pushed him so far that they ended up making a perfect driver."
When asked to clarify his allegation of violence against Verstappen's father Jos, he explained: "That's what I mean. It's not a figure of speech. His father used violence when Max didn't win in karting. If you see that today it seems wild, but that's how it happened for him. I would never educate my son like that."Source: Grand Prix.com

"All hope abandon, ye who enter here" - sign on Helmut Marko's office door.
Red Bull's horns are to be avoided. Jaime has altered his opinion.

Wasn't there a German punk band called Helmut and the Verstappens?

Wasn't there a German punk band called Helmut and the Verstappens? Haha, brilliant Carl. I believe their biggest hit was "You're fired!" followed by that nice Boney M. cover "Daddy cool".
