Okay, that’s that, the 3 day test is over and the opening race of the 2023 season is already in a week. Red Bull is fastest, or at least, they have their car exactly in the sweet spot. Ferrari is second fastest but is obviously still searching for that sweet spot. How big the gap, if there is any, is to Red Bull will only become clear next week. Mercedes is third despite Hamilton’s p2 time on super softs. That car is clearly a handful! Aston Martin has built a good car and are best of the rest. Sergio Pérez recorded the fastest time of the 3 day test.

Thanks for keeping us updated Rene. The cars do look better than last year and if one doesn't have a point of reference you don't really know how big they are. I don't think we will see true pace until Saturday afternoon.

I don't think we will see true pace until Saturday afternoon. Yes, next weekend will tell us how things really stand. As long as it isn't a Red Bull walk away but I have faith. Ferrari will fight for the championship. The size of the cars is indeed relative, a bit like some of my over scale slot cars. As long as you race against the same size cars it doesn't really matter.

and the world superbikes have already started, and from what we are seeing will definitely be competing with MotoGP this year - Phillip Island is a wonderful circuit and it was amazing apart from the Ducati's who dominated,

But feel free to add to the motorbikes section.

thanks Rene, was it only JC and myself who got really excited about WSB and BSB? we followed his cousin/ nephew who despite finishing 10th in the 2nd race was really pleased with the bike as he felt it for the first time, now a 5 week break so hopefully the BMW will get even closer, some good races and WSS was just brilliant with our two Scots doing exceptionally well, yeahhhh- but my word it did look hot out i Thailand.
