If he doesn't win the championship this year, driving classic F1 Ferraris to his heart's content is damn fine consolation. I remember this one well, with the spaghetti exhaust rising with menace between the cylinder banks and driven wonderfully by Chris Amon and Jacky Ickx. Because Formula One came no closer than Bowmanville, Ontario, east of Tornonto, I never got to see one, but imagination can work wonders... Nicely said Carl. He obviously loves driving those classic cars and Ferrari is happy to roll them out of the museum. What a privilege to be a Ferrari driver!
What I find intruiging by the way is the fact the car has a rear wing and front spoilers. All captions, also on the official Ferrari publicaitons, say it's a 1967 car. But looking at pictures from that period, it appears that this rear wing was used for the first time in 1968. And those front spoilers look more like those on the 1969 car... can anyone shed more light on this?

René, Well done. The wing first appeared in 1968 and the large front spoilers in 1969. It may be a modified 1967 chassis and that the chassis dates the car at Ferrari, but that's a guess.

Yes that must be it. The chassis will be from 1967 and so it is dated to this year. But it still looks like a late 60's kit car...

Carl, Rene the cars Ferrari raced in 1968 and 1969 originally started life in 1967. The chassis, by which the car is known was used in all three years, but the engine changed from year to year a bit. The picture of Charles is most probably a 1967 chassis with a 1968 wing and a 1969 nose.
