Hi Charles I have solved the problem. My computer is so out of date that it doesn't have the necessary features. I think the microsoft office product I have is about nine years old. I get you pics fine on my phone so will try my tablet as well. I guess I will finally have to start using the laptop I brought over a year ago! That is reassuring to hear Rob; this tech' stuff can be most annoying at times especially when it gets a bit long in the tooth. René and I were having a conversation the other day about computers as we share a mutual enjoyment of Apple products. I also have a Windows PC which must be all of 10 years old now and at the time it was a very powerful machine, and even to this day is respectable in performance but the OS is now unsupported which is a disgrace. I have been attempting to update it with a new HDD and software but it is proving a challenge as it does not wish to play ball. However i have a lifetime motto "never ever give up"!!

I will have to bite the bullet Charles and get used to my laptop. I just feel that constantly having to learn new systems is a waste of my time. I don't need all the gizmos that some of these things have.

I have always wanted one as a model but keep missing out on getting one; it is a "must have" for all Apple aficionados of motor sport.

This was in fact the only Apple sponsored race car ever. And the amazing thing is this was 1980, four years before the introduction of the Macintosh (the first personal computer as we know it). Steve Jobs was a Porsche man and owned a 356. The idea to sponsor a came from Bob Garretson, who ran a race shop in Mountain View, just a few miles from Cupertino. In 1980, Jobs dropped by with Steve Wozniak to have some work done on his 356. They all hit it off. Soon, Apple Computers became the main sponsor for Garretson’s race team. The car competed in the 1980 Le Mans 24hrs and was driven by Bobby Rahal, Allan Moffet & Bob Garretson. JC, I have the Fly slot car of this Porsche. A very accurate and detailed model and as you say, a must have for me as Apple and race fan.

I have seen the Fly Apple K3 and it is very good indeed, as were many of their slot car models. I always wanted a good 1/43rd model for my static collection but missed out on some good kits back in the day.

The last great Lotus; it never looked as good in "dirty' Camel yellow.

Agreed, the Camel colours never looked good. I don't think the yellow itself was the issue, it was simply not a nice livery. There was no real graphic design behind it, no subtlety, no nice pinstriping, no overall concept. Only big fat Camel logos placed all over the car. There have been plenty of nice yellow race cars, think Pennzoil Indycars, Ecurie Francorchamps cars, even some Jordans. Lotus used yellow combined with racing green on many of its cars. They could have used this fact with a bit of clever thinking and integrate it in the design, a nod to the past... hmmm, why do they never call me for something like this?

I have no problem with yellow, after all my Lotus Elan is yellow (Lotus Yellow) and I love it! The Camel yellow was almost a light ochre in colour, I forget the actual RAL Colour I used for several that I built; three in fact by different kit manufacturers in 1/43rd scale. As you say not a very imaginative colour scheme, but it would have to have been sensational to compete with its predecessor in black and gold.

Plain, nice yellow. The Écurie Francorchamps Ferrari 156 with Olivier Gendebien behind the wheel. Spa 1961.
