Cool Chris. I will begin building in the next couple of weeks and when it's ready we can make a plan for you to collect. The successor was the Hornet which was beautiful but by then obsolete due to jets.

Just to add, that is a cool interaction Rob & Chris which should make both parties very happy. A 1/32nd scale Mosquito should be quite a size and allow for plenty of detail.
On a similar front I was watching on YouTube last evening Airfix' catalogue of aircraft kits for 2021. Now not being up on these things they appear to be introducing some new models as the year goes on which include some 1/72nd kits of a Hawker Tempest; Mosquito and ME109 and JU88 as well as a Superfortress (not sure of scale at this time). Now I am not certain if these are re-issues of old kits ;like they are doing with some 1/32nd car kits.

Rob, that would be fantastic, thank you - I have a number of books on the Mossie, and did read somewhere of its successor which never fought but was even more astonishing, the name escapes me, but for me the Mossie was just such a wonderful machine, so successful and so deadly, a thing of beauty and grace which sounded glorious, and fast, very fast. thank you Rob! Top speed above 400 mph is P-38 performance!

I received one of the regular eBay updates in my email this morning, advising me of some interesting things for sale that matched my "Watched List". In it was a Revell kit of a Hawker Tempest MkV in 1/32nd scale, that must be quite a big beast but the detail looked astonishing.
Know anything about it Rob?

Revell have been making some good kits over the last few years so definitely worth a look. The previous 1/32 Tempests were made by an outfit called Pacific Coast Models and were pretty good. Hopefully the Revell one is new tooling. www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235081878-hawker-tempest-mkv-03851-132/ I think I may have to get this one. The rivet is excellent and so noticable in this scale.

Probably a bit too much for me in that scale, but still might get the 1/48th scale kit but I am not sure if my mind is really into model making these days.

has anyone seen just how much racing is on this weekend? aside from Indycars, which I will comment elsewhere, there are historics or maybe hysterics, at Monaco with at least two genuine superstars in Jean Alesi and Rene Arnoux both in red cars and oh the sound is just heaven, small entries but great racing and at Barcelona there is the 4 hour WRC LeMans Europe race with a large entry of over 40 cars, and a big saloon car race elsewhere- quite overwhelming - will try and catch the Indycar race [thanks to JC] but it is looking good
