Have a quick peak at this gents.
It’s short clip showcasing a documentary being released in America tomorrow (Nov 17) about the 1970 Ferrari 312B - it looks great.
Have you heard anything about it Carl?

This is a must see, it looks really good. The 312B is a beautiful looking car, perfectly proportioned.

Have you heard anything about it Carl? I haven't, but I look forward to seeing the documentary after watching this brilliant clip. In my only European race event, I saw Ickx and eventual winner Clay Regazzoni driving 312Bs in the 1970 Italian Grand Prix. I'll never forget the jubilation of the crowd afterward.

René,
Didn't the Ickx car run with yellow pin stripes in the race at Spa 1970?
A wonderful shot, one could not get anything like that today.

Yes indeed JC. Ickx's car had the yellow pin stripes in the race (which looked very cool ) but this photo is taken the day before during qualy. Obviously they did the stripes overnight or sunday morning.

Not the first man you would associate with the 312B, Chris Amon. Testing in Modena 1969. Who said Alonso had bad timing...

As a young aspiring F1 engineer, I waited for Giuliano Orzali's articles on Autosprint like they waited for the Messiah in Palestine. Well, more or less...
He had this beautiful and utterly original prose and explained the technicalities in plain terms with outlandish examples - but always on the point.

Lucio, did you ever work in the race car industry as you say it was your aspiration? Also noticed you work in Woking...any connection to the well known race car manufacturer? Excuse my curiosity...

Jamie, Nigel Roebuck always spoke of doing Chris's biography but I think the funding was cut, I did see a series of articles regarding Chris and I seem to think they were televised on You-tube but I may be mistaken on that -

No, Rene'. I did my dissertation on composite chassis with the help of an (ex)F1 team, but never worked in the industry (I don't count a couple of years in F2000 and F3 while still uni student). Went straight into major infrastructure design. Still capable to do a decent car layout, tough. They are next door, but I don't work at McLaren.

The years in F2000 and F3 are still more than most of us mortals have done! Did you visit the McLaren space (uuh technology)center?
