Who is behind the wheel? Of what car, where and when? Alfred Neubauer is standing behind, so it must be a Mercedes. Driver: Stirling Moss (?) Where: Nurnburgring (?) When: Early spring of 1955 (?)

Hmmm..... tough one.
Neubauer makes you think Mercedes and at first glance it looks like a W196, possibly but it’s not quite right around the nose and don’t remember them having a grill?
Over to Valentin 👍

Winter '54 is correct, Avus is not. Another hint; they ran the track anti-clockwise back then which was changed later.

Hockenheim, 4th December 1954, W196.
Edit: Pinterest is your friend...
2nd Edit: When I read the track ran anti-clockwise then, I thought of Hockenheim.

Correct Lucio! Hockenheim 4 December 1954, Stirling Moss sets off on his first test laps in the Mercedes Benz W196 with an odd looking grill. I must say I learned a few things myself with this one. Let's see if I can find another one...

Who is this gentleman?

Ah, that’s Pasolini 👍
I only know this because I was reading something about Ago quite recently and they had a great rivalry. I think he died racing, is that right?

Great spot Jamie.
Sadly "Paso" died in that terrible accident at Monza along with Jarno Saarinen, a very dark day for motorcycle road racing.

Great spot Jamie. Sadly "Paso" died in that terrible accident at Monza along with Jarno Saarinen, a very dark day for motorcycle road racing. To be honest I got lucky with one as I’d been reading something about Ago a few days before and his rivalry with Pasolini was a major feature. That exact picture was part of it 😁 I think I’ll do some reaearch as he seems to have been an interesting character. Sounds like a sad end as you say.

Here is "Paso" in full racing gear and with at the time his newly adopted helmet scheme copied from a very well known English racer whose one (of many) claims to fame related to Agostini:- Who is he? What is the Ago relationship with regard to a race? In that race what machine was he riding? Attachment Deleted
