I'm sorry to have missed such a wonderful conversation and great photographs!
I suspect Aldo is frowning in the family picture because he somehow senses that his twin is destined to be famous while he is not. One great story about Mario and Aldo a few years later is how, unable to afford tickets, they would stand outside the circuit at the Curva Grande and listen as Fangio and Ascari screamed past.
Mario was a great talent and still loves racing. At 77, he still drives people around Indianapolis Motor Speedway at speed in the two-seat Indy car! He still can find the apexes if not good candidates for high office.
And Richard Petty looks better, possibly because moonshine is healthier than single-malt Scotch.

They both backed the wrong candidate...

Well done, Lucio! As he leaps into his Ferrari 250 TR to begin the 1959 Nurburgring 1000 km event. He and Cliff Allison finished 5th. The GP photo was at the 1964 Belgian Grand Prix, where Dan was on pole and ran out of fuel on the last lap. The more recent one is Mr. and Mrs. Gurney. Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted

Hi there does anybody know who the guy on the right is. I am wearing the leather jacket. He was Danish I think and had won LMP 2 at Le Mans or had come very high up. He accompanied me on my drive around Maranello in a Ferrari California. His daughter Christina Nielsen is actually more famous in motor racing connection: she is a professional driver for Ferrari USA, and she has won the American GTD Championship in the IMSA series for now two years in a row, driving a Ferrari 488 .
Mikael, Christina Nielsen is an amazing driver and a worthy champion. As usual, Mikael, not only do you solve the mystery but add fascinating information to your solution. Sherlock Holmes did the same. Many are unaware that police throughout Europe were so inspired by the logical brilliance of Arthur Conan Doyle's genius detective that modern forensic science was actually modeled on Sherlock Holmes' systematic approach. Conan Doyle had originally been inspired by a professor at the University of Edinburgh Medical School, Dr. Joseph Bell, whose real life penetrating observations were the basis for those of Holmes. "Come, Watson. The game is afoot. We must learn when Mikael attended the University of Edinburgh Medical School." Cheers, Carl

"Come, Watson. The game is afoot. We must learn when Mikael attended the University of Edinburgh Medical School." Hello Carl Danes like to point out that "Denmark is just a small country", but it's actually true. And not only has the father, Lars Erik "Hjulspind" (wheelspin :-) ) Nielsen, been active in Danish motorsport (an even smaller community!) since the 1970's, he has also become a bit of a celebrity due to having been a highly successful businessman (in a large variety of enterprises). So you don't even have to be interested in motorsport; by staying just reasonably up-to-date with Danish news, this is a name that's almost impossible to avoid (even for someone like me who has been away from Denmark for almost 20 years). So this time I was in luck - no Sherlock Holmes-type of logic thinking was needed :-) Best wishes Mikael
