Isn't that Mauro Forghieri (center-right) in a black Lotus-JPS jacket? Mauro borrows a jacket from the Lotus camp? Peter Warr seems more likely... I also thought it was Peter Warr, although he was with Walter Wolf that year. Maybe his old Team Lotus jacket was warmer...

Yes indeed, Wolf. And I realize now that in 1979 there was no JPS sponsored team. Lotus had Martini colors. Maybe a journalist with a Lotus jacket?

You're most likely right. I agree it would be strange with Forghieri in an old Lotus jacket - even on a wet and gloomy Saturday. Still, judged on the movies and photos I have seen, I thought the way this person wears his cap, and the whole "body language", is just like Forghieri.

Judging by the hairstyle I think it is Matteo Binnotto's dad.

Whoever it is, he and his companion have chosen a very public place for their assignation Also curious is why Louis Stanley must ask permission to leave the BRM enclosure.

Beautiful pic of the Lotus 38 and Jim Clark in perfect harmony during the 1965 Indianapolis 500. Always loved that car and the yellow exhausts.

what a magnificent picture and one I always refer doubters to, sheer poetry in motion, even heard Aidan Milliard saying something about the greatest and best of all time was Jimmy, that 38 in it's purest form was just heaven.
I understand that the 1967 version is now at the Jim Clark's museum, this necessitates another visit methinks
Above all thank you Rene for such a wonderful banner

Michael Schumacher in the gorgeous Jordan 191 on his stunning debut at Spa 1991. It was clear from the first meters there was something special going on.

One of the prettiest F1 cars ever designed.

Ref. the Jordan 191:
The triple-deck rear wing is an interesting little detail. A revisit to a classic idea, it seems ...

An idea that worked obviously, but will also create a lot of drag I assume?

I did wonder why Michael was so strong in his F1 debut - ok qualifying and why he was so quickly picked up by Benetton as after all I don't remember him being that exceptional in the Merc Group C car, if I remember correctly all the talk was about Karl Wendlinger - even saying Heinz-Harald was quicker but when it came to F1 - Michael really blew them away.
Nice one Mikael,
