As first post in this section I want to show some beautiful pictures of our hero's and their appreciation for the model car/slot car. The pictures speak for themselves.

I wonder if that Lotus 49B of Seppi is a Henri Baigent creation as it would have pre-dated the Tamiya 1/12th scale kit?
Great images René.

Thanks for this link Carl! This shows exactly why I like this hobby so much and it also shows that most slot racers/collectors are race enthusiasts. What a shame we don't live more closeby, we could start our own slot race club!

That would be so cool! The video begins with the stock cars of David Pearson (#17) and Richard Petty (#44) dueling on a road course! David Pearson was a masterful road racer and in real life it would have been no contest, but that's part of the fun. Both are alive and well and would love to renew their long rivalry in 1/32nd scale.

Yes, a big part of the fun is to relive those races and duels from the past. The detail and quality of modern slot cars is amazing and there are many models from all different eras available. Also for the modeller like myself there is so much great stuff now. Bobby Rahal has a nice track build by Slot Mods: slotmods.com/pages/rahal-road-america

A wonderfully accurate model of Road America, with almost every turn accounted for, lacking only accurate scale on the straights. But for that Rahal would have to tear down several walls. I wonder if he brought that up with his wife...

This little toy is what Zak Brown ordered at Slotmods.

Amazing! It would test your car's steering lock to have the Station Hairpin right after the Karussell, but what fun!
In Monaco, my friend told me the next day that I had tried to walk the proper line at the hairpin, but my shoes would not turn fast enough and I gently nudged the outside barrier.

The Villeneuves racing slot cars. It's obvious Gilles doesn't want to lose!

(With Number 1 as he would have sported in '71 ...)
