What are the black markings above the grill on the Cortina? Don't recall ever seeing those before.

Great René, some really superb slot car models. I have to confess to owning all of those, in fact I have all of Jim Clark's Scalextric Lotus 49's. The Revell Lotus Cortina is a really good model and I bought that just after it was released, and as you say the packaging display box is really cool.
The black markings on the front of the bonnet (hood for those in the USA) is the model manufacturer capturing the black tank tape applied to Jim's full sized racer, good attention to detail.
Incidentally the driver figure in the car has a pretty good representation of Jimmy in profile, it actually looks like him.

Thanks guys. Rob, I created a small 'man cave' in the attick where I build my slot track and have all my model cars and racing memorabilia. Time can fly when being in this room I have to admit. Not going to work and play with the cars instead can be tempting sometimes! JC, I actually expected you to have these cars. As a Jim Clark admirer and model car collector these are 'must haves'. The driver figure does look like him indeed! Jamie, you should. The kids will love it!

Rene,
That's a beautiful Lotus Cortina! I was going to ask if it lifts its inside front wheel...and it does! Amazing!
Also beautiful is your track and both Clark Lotus 49s, in which he likely would have been World Champion two years in a row. As things stand, Jim Clark remains statistically the very best Grand Prix driver, having the advantage on a percentage basis, I believe, over all others.
Cheers, Carl

Impressive models and track, René. Regarding the Cortina, as a Dane I'm quite a bit impressed by (the Danish) Prince Joachim (not the Crown Prince - the younger one) who is participating in historic racing (in Denmark) with just such a car (1965 Lotus Cortina). He's actually a talented driver. I'm not fully up to date with how many national championships he has clinched by now in that Cortina of his; but it's at least five!

That's a great shot of the Cortina, Mikael! Nice to see it still gets raced hard! So you also have a Prince who's 'into' racing. We have Prince Bernhard who races himself and is co-owner of the Zandvoort circuit. He is of course the grandson of the old Bernhard who knew Enzo personally and ordered the occasional Ferrari, always in green! Let's say it helps to have the right funding with a hobby like that!
