Someone changed their vote Sound the alarm! Call the proboard police!! This is outrageous! Changing your vote after the race is illegal. You’re busted Mr. Slate! I'll confess and surrender to her if she drops the gunbelt and I provide the weaponry

ref! I was framed, it was a delayed reaction, honest guv.
But I will take my punishment as one only can......
Rene, I took loads of photos on my Panasonic Lumix which won't download onto my Imac [arghh] I checked with Panasonic and they tell me this - so I have downloaded them to my windows laptop and will be hopefully posting a few - in truth despite telescopic thingys they aren't that great- I loved the adrenalin you experience when you see the F1 cars again. The start was memorable and the race was pretty exciting until the first pit stops and then you lose complete track of what was happening as the speakers were drowned out by the drone like sounds, you try and see what is happening on your phone but can't get a signal so that was frustrating.
What really stood out for me was just how massive the whole circus is and expensive, a cup of tea was well over 5 euro's and not pleasant.
Carl, Camp! gosh no, it was so cold and wet, a typical English summer when Wimbledon and the Cricket is on - we stayed at my friends son's house in a place called Market Harborough, about an hour away -very grateful- We watched what was happening on the screen elsewhere but it wasn't the same,
I actually preferred the sounds of the F1 cars to the F2 cars, but then the real engines came out to play including and please forgive me a Ferrari but which one looked mid 90's and that BMW and Cosworth engine just blew them out of the water. I preferred the sound of the Merc engine above the others

I preferred the sound of the Merc engine above the others Thanks Chris. Yes, it has grown very big and very expensive but it is still exciting to see these cars at full speed. They’re so fast. But yeah, the old cars sounded better for sure. You can always send me some photos by mail so I can post them on here if you wish.

Thanks Rene,
in a straight line the cars looked quite ordinary but then the cornering was phenomenal and defined logic, but then I was watching the rain fall yesterday and this marvellous clip of the 1958 British GP appeared on Youtube, my word to see the likes of Pete Collins sliding to victory and those beautiful engines,

It must have been a great experience, Chris!
I would love to see a GP again live ...
Besides the pleasure for the senses (the sight, the sound, the smell, etc.), one remains happily ignorant about tyre-change strategies, instructions by radio, etc.; and one can imagine it's just driver vs. driver, and truly enjoy that ...

I was intrigued a bit by a small, unimportant detail (as often ), namely the helmet of Lance Stroll. Apparently, Fernando Alonso used a similar design at the Monaco GP this year.
Almost sixty years ago, in the mid-60's, Valvoline in Denmark supported a number of Danish drivers on the understanding that they should race with helmets (also sponsored by Valvoline), white in colour, with a large Valvoline "V" on the front, and "Valvoline" on the sides - exactly like those special helmets of Stroll and Alonso. So actually, the Valvoline-themed helmets of these drivers are really of retro design!

Alonso at the Monaco GP 2024.

I worked for Valvoline twice not always the most positive experience but I did get to see quite a few races courtesy of V and as they included the 1996 Indy 500 I really should not be at all ungrateful

Lando has just gone immensely up in my estimation - there is a clip of him arriving on the Thursday in a fully chrome Shelby Cobra. oh that sound,
