The 2 Hours concluding Sebring were fast and very competitive. Wayne Taylor and Michael Andretti joined forces and scored a first Sebring victory for Acura, barely, after Sebastien Bourdais, in his Cadillac, lost pace as his tyres degraded in the last few laps and was passed for the lead by the excitable Swiss driver, Louis Delétraz. Bourdais was further slowed on the penultimate lap by GT driver Jack Hawksworth inexplicably blocking him. C'est la vie...
There were several excellent passes and two were astounding. Hunter McElrae surprised everyone with an inside pass for the LMP2 lead in the dangerous Turn 17. Later in the race, Connor De Phillippi's LMP1 BMW rocketed from fifth to third entering the first turn on a restart.
Seventeen year old Connor Zilish is two for two in LMP2, following up his Daytona victory with another at Sebring.
As always, Leigh Diffey alternates between hyperbolic distortion and a lyrical sorority girl's self-amused chirping

Thanks Carl. I watched a few parts live and it was a competitive and exciting race indeed. When I tuned in again yesterday evening, it was in the middle of a full course yellow and then they showed why…

Fortunately, Derani was shaken, not stirred, and walked away without injury after a spectacular demonstration of the safety provided by bundled tyres. Providential good luck also lent a protective hand. Had the Cadillac prototype crashed 50 metres sooner into a three section armco barrier, the damage to everyone could easily have been far worse. I'm curious about the spectator (at the 1:35 mark) who approaches with arms outstretched as though demanding to know what the hell Durani was doing. Maybe he spilled his beer...

Ha ha yes, that must be it. He spilled his beer! Or the guy at the 0:27 mark who wanted to help but discovered, on camera, that he is no longer 27.

He was held back from heroics by time and heft.
