Jody Scheckter is selling his private Grand Prix collection, including the 1979 Ferrari 312 T4. He won the Belgian and Monaco Grand Prix in this chassis. It is estimated to sell for £4.5 to £5 million. Sounds like a bargain to me. I think I’ll start a crowdfunding action to raise the money…

Would you share the location of its garage? Thought not...

Just looking at the collection Jody is selling, the innovative Tyrell P34 amongst others, the one I was never a fan of, the Wolf and one I was, the McLaren M23 in it's gorgeous Yardley colours going for a mere 1.9 million pounds, a drop in the McLaren ocean? Of course the beautiful T4 is going for the most and is estimated at 5.5 million, so maybe a crowd funding or two may be a good idea chaps.
I did see Jody drive the P34, the Wolf and the T4 [and yup the T5] which I guess when you look back was quite a privilege and how fortunate I was

I saw Jody drive the Tyrrell 007 in '74 and75 and the Wolf in '77. Loved the 007, especially in 1975 guise. Wolf was pretty but I felt very much towards the Wolf as I do towards the fizzy drinks car, a bit gimmicky.

The T4 is my favorite F1 car because it was the first Ferrari F1 car I saw in the flesh. Zolder 1979 and Jody won. So I need to have this car!

I thought the more aerodynamic second P34 was beautiful but without a chance to be competitive.
I first saw Jody in the Trojan F5000 at Riverside in 1973, when he was the awesome young sensation, and rightly so. He won the championship that year over Brian Redman. That same year, I saw him in the M23 at the Canadian Grand Prix, crashing into Francois Cevert in the very fast Turn 2 right in front of our vantage point. After exiting his Tyrrell, Cevert hobbled over to Scheckter, also stopped on the grass, and slapped him across the helmet. A dejected Jody walked past us, helmet in hand, on his way to explain to Teddy Mayer.

Jody was a bit of a wild boy. But he learned fast and became a regular front runner. I still remember getting a slot car set for Christmas that had a Ferrari and a Tyrrell F1 car. Niki Lauda and Jody Scheckter were the drivers. I had never heard of Scheckter before but thought his name was so cool!
