Hey John Charles Congratulations on hitting god status. 1000 posts, whew that's incredible just for the effort concerned let alone the amount of valuable information you have disseminated to us mere mortals, René excluded from the mortal part. Thanks mate it is a real pleasure discussing all things with you. Many thanks Rob, but it hasn't really taken much effort as it is such a pleasure writing ones thoughts etc here, and with such a brilliant group of guys, who are all equally knowledgeable and "Gods". This is one hell of a forum and it is so disappointing that those who have been invited have not shown up, they really do not know what they are missing out on. JC

Here is the tub pic as promised. I have finally made some progress with posting a pic. That is looking very impressive Rob! I really need to retire first to start adding that kind of detail to my models.

Beautiful pic René, Sebring 1972. The MotorSport magazine cover on the May 1972 edition featured a close up of this car and I think there was a full page photo as well. That particular edition has a special resonance for me as it arrived on the day I was to take my drivers licence.

Some more progress on my 1/12 scale Ferrari 312pb Wonderful; wonderful Rob. Are you sure you haven't a "one to one" stored away in your garage and that you are not trying to pass it off as a 1/12th scale model . Absolutely superb work and what a model. looking forward to the next instalment of pics. JC

Incredible work Rob, I’ve got to get one of these!
Fear I wouldn’t do it justice though, that really is a work of art.

Rob,
As with Jamie's project car, your 312PB updates inspire everyone to review earlier photographs. Simply amazing detail! The 312 prototipo was a work of artistic genius, a forza Forghieri well reflected in your own artistry. All you need are comparably perfect 1/12 scale Andretti and Ickx, two number ones who were congenial as teammates. Cheers, Carl

Thank you Charles, Jamie and Carl for the very positive comments and support. Some figures would be perfect to give it scale. I will keep looking.

Rob, I can only repeat what the other members have already said: a most impressive level of detail indeed. My last motocross motorcycle was a 1982 Suzuki RM250. In 1983 Tamiya issued a 1/12 model of that bike, so I just had to have it. (It has long since disappeared ...) I thought it was a large model; and then to think of a car in that scale - it must be substantial!

Many thanks Mikael. I remember that model motorbike. I used to run an aircooled Suzuki RM 250 in my kart.

Completely missed this last update! Rob, that looks amazing. Your modelling skills are sublime, seriously. Is it for sale after you've finished it?
