After a long summer break, the sports cars are also starting up again, this time in Japan for the 6 Hours of Fuji, the penultimate race of this championship. The title will undoubtedly go to one of the Toyota cars, but Ferrari in particular has shown that next year could be very exciting. And after Toyota's win in Italy, the Scuderia will be eager to strike back on Japanese soil! Definitely worth watching, but in the middle of the night if you are in Europe.

A Toyota 1-2 in qualifying! Kamui Kobayashi scored pole position in the #7 car while Ferrari struggled and could only manage p6 and 7. They couldn’t find the right setup and were actually surprised themselves. The Penske Porsches benefited and will start from p3 and p4 and a Cadillac in p5. But it’s a long race so anything can happen. Forza!

A dominant 1-2 for Toyota at their home race in Fuji so congrats to them. Also a strong showing of the Penske Porsche #6 finishing only 9 seconds behind the second Toyota. A disappointing race for Ferrari who just couldn't find the setup and speed this weekend and finished a lap down in 4th and 5th. 1. TOYOTA RACING HYPERCAR #7 M. CONWAY K. KOBAYASHI J. LOPEZ 2. An interesting, and for some maybe harsh comment from Toyota's technical director Pascal Vasselon regarding the lack of pace of the Ferraris at Fuji; 'it wasn't the car, it was the drivers' he said! And to be honest, I think he has a point. When Ferrari decided to enter the Hypercar class, they chose to promote their AF Corse GT drivers and to complete the lineup, Antonio Giovinazzi was drafted after his F1 exit. Only one driver of Ferrari's lineup could manage to equal Toyota's speed and even sometimes faster, and that is Antonio Fuoco of the #50 car. It was clear from the start Fuoco was the fastest driver and he put it on pole a few times this season. Fuoco could even be F1 material if you ask me. The fastest driver of the #51 car is Giovinazzi. If Ferrari really wants to challenge Toyota next season, this is certainly a point of attention to say it carefully. In the 'old days' it was normal to call up the F1 drivers for the major sportscar races. Antonio Fuoco

Yes, certainly; it was fascinating even just to watch photos of - and read about - the Formula One stars in sports- and touring cars.
