Another well known French racing driver has left us; Parisian Jean-Pierre Jabouille has died at age 80.
He won two Formula 1 Grand Prix with Renault, the most famous being the 1979 French Grand Prix which was the first win for Renault in F1 and the first win for a turbo car. And of course his first win which was sort of overshadowed by the legendary dual for second between Villeneuve and Arnoux... maybe typical for Jabouille's career. A very good driver but also very unlucky on many occasions. In 1980 Jabouille won the Austrian Grand Prix.
