Only a small trip from Austin to Mexico City and all eyes will be on one man only at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Sergio Pérez is now the most successful Mexican driver in F1 history and his biggest dream will no doubt be to win the Mexican Grand Prix in front of his home fans. Not sure if Max will give any presents but a home win for Checo would be immensely popular. The Red Bulls are favorite for sure with that very long straight and this track has been very good for them the last couple of years anyway.
It will also be interesting to see how big of a step Mercedes really made. They were certainly more competitive in Austin but would Lewis have finished second with Sainz still in the race and if Leclerc had started from his usual front row position? We’ll never know but Charles was almost at the back of the field after the first lap and recovered to third. But we'll see how the balance of power is this weekend. Still a lot to play for!

Time for some luck for Ferrari. Amen to that Rob! Charles was a bit unlucky yesterday with that crash but in FP1 the Ferraris looked fast and sharp! Forza!
The Red Bull penalty is a farce if you ask me, a license to cheat even more. But you have to admire Horner how he keeps his face so straight when he talks the most ridiculous bullshit. Catering costs? Really....

Yep Rene, I must admit I don't find the team principals good enough to be role models for anyone. They all seem to talk bullshit with a straight face, arrogance really. I am also finding the season too long and the races don't hold the excitement they once did. There is no anticipation just continuous races, I hardly know where I am. I think 18 is the max.

I agree Rob. The season is just too long. But the sport is very popular and there have never been bigger crowds at races than now so I'm afraid this will continue. I will watch, I always do but my excitiment is also waning more often than before. Ah well, I just go to my man cave and work on some classic models with some good music in the background... am I getting old?

Not old Rene-just more discerning. Love building models to music.

Not old Rene-just more discerning. Love building models to music. I still remember how much I loved building model kits, essentially following directions, seldom straying far into creative territory. These days, I'd rather dance with a model...creatively.

Mercedes flying in FP3! Apparently the thin air at high altitude does wonders for the silver arrows. Red Bull and Ferrari still have some work to do before qualifying. Could be an exciting session.

I'm with you on that one Carl,
Qualifying seemed a bit chaotic and the dislike or whatever it is towards Lewis seems not have dissipated, so the 1st corner may be interesting,
have we heard the last of the fizzy drinks cheating, sorry paying for Adrian's lunch

Win #14 for Max, a new record. A bit meaningless given the number of races a season has nowadays but there's obviously nothing that can stop Verstappen right now.
The race was not very exciting and an absolute low for Ferrari. On to the next one...
