Finally, after almost three years, back in Singapore at the fabulous Marina Bay street circuit. Probably the longest, hottest and most demanding race of the year. In theory, Max Verstappen could seal the championship this weekend. He would need to win (likely) but both Charles and Sergio would need to finish lower than 8th or 4th (less likely). But it’s a race where anything can happen and anyone, including Mercedes, who gets the setup spot on could challenge for the win. Let’s hope for an exciting race like we’ve seen in the beginning of the year and not another Verstappen walk-over.
It’s time again for a Ferrari win if you ask me… But a surprise result would be nice too.

I must say that F1 is beginning to pall for me. Too many races and too many of them on boring, forgettable race tracks. Singapore presents a conundrum for me. A beautiful setting cloaked in darkness outside of the track. Don't like night races personally. Anyway lets hope Ferrari win.

Singapore is a place I am told is one that is almost a wonder of the world, a place worth visiting but I am sorry but this circuit does not light my fire, especially after so many recent places of greatness, however, I am seeing a Mercedes comeback here, so am thinking Lewis is going to make his mark this weekend, it would be good if it was an exciting race and I will watch the highlights

Looking good so far for Ferrari and also Mercedes looking very competitive.
Even more interesting though is the talk about a possible breach of the cost cap by two teams, namely Aston Martin and Red Bull. If Red Bull has indeed broken the rules, this could have massive consequences... to be continued.

Whooah, pole position! Pole #9 for Charles this season, maybe a bit lucky that Max could not finish his last lap but it’s the way it is. A mistake from the team this time with the fuel amount and maybe also a little bit from Max for aborting his previous lap when he made a small mistake. That lap would at least have placed him further up the grid. But anyway, a good opportunity for Charles and Ferrari to win this race. Hamilton also looked very strong this qualy and will be a factor in the race.

A gold metalflake Punk Paradise helmet? They say it gives magical powers so he can win all the remaining races and also paralyze Red Bull and make them look bad. We can see the first signs already.

… well, it almost worked. Perez may have won due to his better start. He drove beautifully, but the magic should have been with Leclerc... The delay was very long and I fell asleep. Even on a day so hot and humid, had Natalie Pinkham worn a bikini, Anthony Davidson would have spun the sidecar rickshaw several times. On the grid walk, Martin Brundle should have asked Will I Am who he was... I fell asleep.
Finally the race started and everyone was on tip-toes. Of course, my recording stopped with 23 laps remaining, but a later broadcast had been corrected for time and I was able to see the more exciting second act on a drying track. Caution should never be the order of the day in a Grand Prix. This may mark me as old-fashioned, but Singapore looks better at night when you can't see the architecture...

Interesting a good drive by Perez but leaves me a bit puzzled as I am not sure if it’s me but is there one rule for one team ie in this instance the fizzy drinks brigade with the safety car
As for Lewis he left me thinking he hasn’t given up and is hungry for more success
Another thing that seems to be subject to a lot of discussion and that is around budget busting and threats of suing accusers

A good race and deserved win for Checo. Of course I wanted to see Charles win but they both drove brilliantly and Charles basically lost the race at the start. It is what it is.
Lewis was on fire this weekend even if he made a mistake in the race. But he admitted that so that's fine.
Max was obviously still annoyed about qualy and also the accusations against RB about the budget cap telling people to shut up. Flashes of the old Max. But he can afford a messy weekend.
I actually like this track. Always spectacular and not much room for error.

I like the challenging track, which looks fun to drive, but not the look of Singapore itself. Maybe it's always been a strange place; first colonial and now hyper-modern.

I see that this race was Nando's 350th GP start, which for a child of the 60's is a bit incomprehensible, I would congratulate him and the safety that the likes of Graham, Jackie and Jo introduced that allowed drivers to continue for such a long time, mind you it does make me wonder how many races would have the likes of Ascari and Jimmy would have won - certainly on his ratio Jimmy would have won over a 100 and given a bit more reliability probabaly nearer 200 - which is just mind boggling, but if's and but's - well done to Alonso may he continue to enjoy his time in F1,
