Nice indeed to see Ferrari back on top. Just for the fact that they have been loyal to Formula One "always" - while all other teams have come and went - they certainly deserve more success than they have had the last 20 years.
Just to think: 71 seasons in a row; basically a lifetime. An amazing commitment indeed.
(P.S. I have again not been able to watch the race. Have only watched the highlights - with the loudspeaker muted.)
Isn't that wonderful?

Mike Hawthorn, always stylish with a bow tie and a British-Racing-Green jacket, even in the Ferrari. Kind of interesting :-)

Mikael, Mike Hawthorne was apparently by all accounts intensely patriotic and had an intense dislike for anything German, a carry over from WW2. It was rumoured that his fatal road car accident was a result of the fact that the other vehicle he engaged with that fateful day driven by Rob Walker was a Mercedes Benz, Hawthorne in his beloved Jaguar. He could not stand the thought of a German car being ahead of him. This is of course speculation by some writers at the time but not necessarily the real facts, however he was typical of many British individuals of that time, some even continuing to this day . His signature dress sense was so much part of the man with Bow Tie and green bomber jacket along with the dark green helmet and visor (he seldom wore goggles which makes me wonder if he preferred the visor due to his serious health issues). Cheers JC

as you say Mikael, 71 years of commitment, am amazing journey of incredible highs and terrible lows, how two people basically created a legend - not my favourite team but my word do I respect their achievements
JC I did read an interview with Rob Walker who spoke their 'race' and the tragic consequences of the frightening old Hogs back, a road I used to occasionally frequent and it was a fast piece of tarmac, however that interview was many years ago so can't verify its authenticity - another thing I had read was about how 'tricked' the Jag was and allegedly a racing car disguised as a road car -
