An excellent and sensible decision by Honda, it also appears that Red Bull are continuing with their engine/transmission program as well, obviously with an eye to the future after 2025, or maybe not.

Here are the first visuals of the new HAAS VF-22. These are still computers renderings but give an idea of the new livery.

Those HAAS images don't create a 'wow!' effect, do they? Somehow they managed to make the new car look old and slow if you ask me. The livery is practically the same as last years which I don't understand. You spend all those millions and then you come up with this look... boring.
Well, at least they are first for once.

Yes, indeed. I may be a bit "over the edge", but when looking at the side-shot of the Haas, I come think of an image like the one below: the typical Grand Prix car of late 1930's; a big monster of a car. Maybe it's the styling around the cockpit that makes the car look even bigger (than it actually is). It's certainly far away from the nimble little Formula One car from the "Golden Years" of Grand Prix racing (say, 60's - 00's).

Maybe motor sport needs a complete clean out, but after reading about the new set up at the FIA I doubt that will happen in my lifetime. Oh! Well back to YouTube and years gone by it is then .

Well, at least they are first for once. And this is the result of the team neglecting updates last year to concentrate on the 2022 regulations? At least the larger wheels look good...
With daddy's sponsorship, will little nikita's expectations tempt Guenther Steiner to quit?

As you say it hardly sets the pulse racing, I am hoping not to be disappointed

I really like the 1930's Mercedes that Mikael posted. HAAS have always had boring liveries to my mind.

Talking of a grey livery, I agree that the HAAS was pretty uninspiring. On the other hand I was really struck by the grey Chip Ganassi DPi Caddy, I think that car looked really cool. Sometimes something works and then on the other hand it does not .

It’s not the grey, it’s just the lack of finesse and creativity that made/makes the HAAS livery so boring.

Here it is, the first big hitter of the 2022 season: Max & Sergio's new weapon, the Red Bull RB18
Not a digital image this time but a real car. However, it's more a presentation model than the actual car that will start testing in Bahrain. But at least it gives an idea and they showed of their new title sponsor Oracle. I do think these new cars look more elegant but I hope there will be some more variation between the different makes. It looks fast though!

And this is the first proper 2022 car, the Aston Martin AMR22.
Some very interesting features on this car and most striking are the sidepods with very small inlets on the front and cooling gills on top of the sidepods which look quite cool I think. Not a bad looking machine. There will surely be more developments on this car before the actual racing starts but this is very much what the new generation looks like.

Thanks Rene, it looks very cool and purposeful, lets hope it goes as well as it looks. These cars look a lot prettier than the previous lot. I wonder how truthful the HAAS pictures really are?
