Back in action after a three week break and this will be the first chance for Fabio Quartararo to clinch his first MotoGP world title. If he wins he’s champion, simple as that. If he finishes second or third or lower, it will depend on where Bagnaia finishes. Realistically, Bagnaia needs to win to keep a chance for the title. It will be a memorable race whatever happens because it will be Valentino Rossi’s last MotoGP race in Italy. It also marks the 10th anniversary of Marco Simoncelli’s death. Let’s hope for a good race. A wet FP1 saw Johann Zarco fastest, Baganaia crashed late on and Quartararo only 18th. But of course this doesn’t say anything yet.

when you look at the map of the circuit it does look strange doesn't it? but it is something special and this year as you say Rene even more so, what with the 10th sad anniversary of Marco's passing - my word I do so remember that as if it happened more recently, awful and what have learned from that?
appears something as the new regulations for Moto3 and SSP300 have been introduced and on first impressions look like a step in a good direction, although my interest in F1 has diminished greatly in recent years the almost weekly tragedies of yesteryear have never left me and I am just so pleased not to read a constant flow of obituaries, long may that last
and of course we have our mate Rossi, last race at Misano, might be a bit of yellow in the crowd for this one......
if it's wet, then Zarco and Miller, if its dry then Fabio, and again whilst not having any prejudices agin Spanish or Italian riders wouldn't it be great for the sport if we had a French MotoGP champion and an Aussie Moto2 champion,
the other news is that we will have two South African's in MotoGP next year, dive bomb Darryn with a touch of the Marco's is being unleashed against an unsuspecting MotoGP grid, oh boy this is going to be interesting!
we also learn that his team-mate this year the great John McPhee is doing another year in Moto3 with none other than Max Biaggi, hopefully this will provide a step to Moto2 in 2023!

Bagnaia does not give up easily. Again pole position and Quartararo only 18th! That's going to be exciting!

Vive la belle France!!! many congratulations to the first French champion - what an astonishing day, whilst unhappy to see Honda back on the top step I can't begrudge them after such a tough year, but Pecco mu heart goes out to you, did everything right until that terrible second when the bike gets away from you and there is nothing you can do, but Yamaha, 1st BSB and now MotoGP, just one more to go, Nice to see Valle finish tenth in his last race at Misano, and Vinales getting a strong finish, although Marquez and Honda are celebrating the 1-2 today and they were really good rides, I am thinking there are a lot of young guns on the grid next year who aren't going to be impressed by older rider,
But Moto2 was the race of excitement, well done to Sam, a great win, a brilliant ride by his team-mate Adrian, a very scary crash to Raul has put Remy back into the driving seat, So many had so much going on it was truly epic
Moto3 saw one of the best rides all season, Denis Foggia is on one helluva roll, wheras Acosta is going backwards - come on Portugal

Fantastic for Fabio and France and wonderful celebrations after the race. Pecco may well have stepped off but he laid down a marker for Marquez, basically saying that if you want to beat me this is how hard you are going to have to ride. His mistake was very small, pushing just a bit too hard on a side of the tyre that does not get much work at this track.
Great win for Sam Lowes in Moto2, why the blazes can't you do that more often Sam! Fernandez had a big wake up call and was lucky to be uninjured in that huge tumble. Not a brilliant day for Remy but he picked up valuable points, come on lad get that championship done.

Yes congratulations to Fabio Quartararo, a well deserved champion. But boy, Francesco Bagnaia has certainly made his mark this year. A certain champion candidate for next season.
