Quite a lot of news doing the rounds at present, some we have touched upon over the past few weeks like the Andretti take over of Sauber/Alfa Romeo. Apparently Michael Andretti has a lot of funding available and made enquiries to both Sauber and Alpha Tauri the latter was rejected as was the former, but then the Sauber interest was reignited. At present Andretti is in the process of taking over the large Swiss finance company that owns much of Sauber.
The general idea is that this will bring Colton Herta into F1 maybe as early as next year (2022) and he will partner Bottas, however some feel that it might be best for him to stay in Indycar for '22 and have a reserve role in F1 before moving exclusively into F1 in '23. Whatever very exciting times if this young man comes to F1.
Just being provocative here but how about McLaren doing a swap with Pato O'Ward and Ricciardo as well, that could be fun.
Back to serious business and it has been confirmed that Nico Hulkenburg will test the Arrow/McLaren Indycar at Barber Raceway, so finally Nico is thinking of doing the obvious.
Finally Chip Ganassi has confirmed a second IMSA car and has signed Sebastian Bourdais as one of the drivers, which is a great move for both parties. Seb will be partnered in the second car by other new signatories Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn.

it would have a sense of kharma if Michael proved successful in F1 as an entrant, I will forever consider his 93 season an incredible debut season that has been much maligned,
I do hope Nico gets a decent drive in Indycars, I do think it is a series that will suit him and his personaility well

But he made a mistake by not moving to Europe and bond with the McLaren guys, certainly with demigod Senna as team mate.

He was a good driver and if he had debuted a year earlier when there was unlimited testing, things would have been greatly different.

I have great respect for the talent of Michael Andretti, but don't think it was ever apparent in Formula One. A better plan of sabotage could not have been contrived than the advice from his father to commute via Concorde and which he was obliged to obey. He basically had no chance to settle in the team or become familiar with the car.
His experience in Formula One was like a great actor whose pants are pulled down his first time in the spotlight on center stage, left with no chance to recover. A damn shame.

Again some (front page) news from the Danish newspaper "Berlingske" (quite rare with two news items related to motorsport for this "quite serious" newspaper.)
I found a Youtube "snippet" of the "crime", included at the bottom. Actually, I feel sorry for the kid. Yes, just 15 years old; he's really just a kid. I don't think it's a nazi salute; he doesn't look like someone who would do such a thing - he was probably just trying to make up a smart "fancy pose" which most unfortunately happened to resemble a nazi greeting. (Also his nationality should be of no importance regarding the specific incident.) I do think that the present "culture of offense" and "zero tolerance" is going too far too often.

Unfortunately we are in very sensitive times Mikael and his nationality became the centre of attraction. I am also certain the kid did not mean to insinuate a Nazi salute either.
I might be incorrect here but it is surely strange that he is being allowed to race anyway even though he has an Italian licence.

Thank you for your response, JC.
Yes, the Italian license is another issue, if it's a recent "trick"; but it could be that he has been racing in Italy some time - the story does not say anything about this.
I recall that Robert Kubica did his top-karting years also under Italian license, as this is where the sharpest competition is. Danish (1982) World Champion Jørn Haase likewise made Italy his base, as did multiple champion Mike Wilsen (of Great Britain).

Almost certainly an innocent gesture by a young boy uncertain how to act on the podium, mistaken as political. Except within pockets of the lunatic far-right, nazis are universally hated, even in Russia, allowing putin to portray Ukraine's democracy as a hotbed of fascism.

Credible rumour suggests that the ascendance of England and the Netherlands at the expense of Wales and the cradle of dumbocracy was preordained by Gianni Infantino and Qatar, a pipsqueak emirate state engulfed in wealth and petroleum. Assuming they remain quiet, the brave Welsh and American players will apparently be allowed to return home.

When asked to comment, Infantino insisted there was no evidence of bright orange strobe lights behind the American goal.
