The final race of the 2017 season. No more trophies to win but everyone wants to end the season on a high. And the last F1 race for Felipe Massa, wouldn't a podium be nice?

in all fairness Rene the circuit feels more akin to a computer game than a motor racing circuit but yes, sentiment wise would be a fitting tribute to Felipe if he did finish on the podium

And Felipe did have a nice farewell in Brazil. But still, would be nice to see him up there one more time!

Hamilton has a big advantage here: PU spec 3.1 with 15HP more and only 300km done. 15hp here=0.27s. And being new it is 0.2s better than Bottas's.

It's close between Hamilton and Vettel so far. Let's see if Seb can grab pole, would be good for the race. Forza Ferrari!

Ham and Vet using old PU(nr.3 for Ham and also nr.3 for Vet). Ferrari did not bring the tyres in the window in the first couple of corners and have a high downforce set-up. Merc some problems with the blistering on the supersofts. Ham should be favourite for pole.

Ferrari tested a new difusser in FP1 and a new nose on Kimi's car(RBR insipration). In FP2 Kimi used the difusser brought by Ferrari at Austin. Mercedes with a new fronts suspension configuration in FP1-lowering the ride height(the 2018 car will be a high rake car).

A lot of 2018 testing it seems. I agree Hamilton is favourite for pole, still hoping for a red miracle!

More informations: -0.8s between ultrasoft and supersoft -Ham fastest in sect 1 and 3(by.0.2s in the last, very surprising) and Vet fastest in sect 2(by.0.13s-another surprise). Vet also tops the speedtrap with 337km/h -in the long runs: Ham-1'43"153 on us(6laps counting) and 1'43"432 on ss(11laps counting); Vet-1'43"532 on ss(12laps counting and haeavier fuel load) and 1'42"85 on us(only 3 laps); -Ham not very consistent on us, blistering more than Bottas. -Ham with PU no.4, Bot with no.3, Vet with no.3

Seems Ham and Vet are closely matched on SS race pace but Seb was a fair chunk quicker on the ultra's. Any idea of fuel load when they were on the US?

Ham had bad blistering on his ultrasofts(the rears), Vettel very low blistering on ultrasofts. Vettel with high fuel load on his run on ss. Today Ham will use PU no.5 which have 15HP more than no.4 and has only 300km(Brazil race). So Ham must be favourite for pole. Strange, the Merc was faster than Ferrari on the slow final sector(with 90 degrees corners).

Voting for Kimi this time. I have read elsewhere that his race runs in all practice sessions were consistently quicker than the others and for longer. Of course things have a habit of changing on race day but keeping my fingers crossed for him; payment for Monaco .

I have a feeling that Ham gifted the pole to Bot. Yes, it asa ă question of managing tyres and keeping them în the right window. But Lewis just to slow în sector 2 with a better PU than Bot.

A well deserved win for Valtteri but what a boring race it was. And a worrying dominance by Mercedes.... They should really ditch this track. It has no natural flow, overtaking is virtually impossible and I get so tired hearing people say how great it is how the cars run under the fancy hotel. Who cares? I want to see a proper track with real corners and a good flow, with grass bordering the track instead of endless blue tarmac and with packed grandstands with real fans. Oh well, maybe they bring back Zandvoort.
