This weekend race 2 of the Austrian double header. Can Jorge Martin repeat his surprise result of pole position and race win? The Ducatis will be strong again but Mir was not far off in the race and Quartararo a solid third. Or can Johann Zarco finally, finally break the spell and win a race? Or is he indeed the Chris Amon of MotoGP racing as JC suggested?

hear hear John and what's more Johan was quickest in the dry, the awful news is yet again Maverick, being suspended by Yamaha, for what Simon Crafar is describing as a sackable offence, which is now very likely, it is such a shame after the relationship promised so much, personally I would love to see him back at Suzuki but doubt that will happen,
the weather was mixed today and the other not good news is Petronas withdrawing from Moto2/3 next year, leaving 2 of the 3 Brits without a ride for next season, and that is a crying shame

Great to see you pulling for Johann guys, he really does deserve this one. As Chris says he was quickest in the dry session this morning and by a significant margin as well, he is on a mission. Maverick has been dropped for this race and will probably get the heave ho for the rest of the season, rumour has it he deliberately tried to blow up the engine in last weekends race in a lot of anger. Not a sound thing to do in the middle of a season, should have left it to the last race Nav' like Jochen Rindt did with Cooper in 1967 . As Chris also mentions Petronas have dropped the Moto2 & 3 teams as well s withdrawing sponsorship of the MotoGP team, something is not well with Yamaha at present, and this is not good news all around. I think young Mr Dixon should get his backside back to BSB for 2022 and work on a WSB ride afterwards, and for John McPhee goodness only knows.

Sadly our intervention failed to help Johann Zarco win, and in the end he dropped it when running around 5th place. All the pace in the world in practice but still not in a race winning position even before the rain began to fall.
We did however experience a truly outstanding ride from race winner Brad Binder who produced the almost unthinkable in winning on track that had become wet and yet he stayed out on slicks. It was immensely brave and with some luck obviously, but that cannot take away the huge amount of skill Brad showed in keeping the bike upright on a surface that must have resembled ice. Even second place finisher Peco Bagnaia praised the performance of there South African afterwards, Peco like the majority had stopped for wet tyres and even though he overtook seven riders on that last lap Brad was well down the road to victory.
Marc Marquez was more a factor in the race but it is pretty obvious that the young new generation are not going to be push overs for him and in the end after changing to wet tyres he then managed to throw the motorcycle down the road, yet again. Also another impressive ride by Jorge Martin who finished a fine third just behind Peco.
The week has also begun with the news that Maverick Vinales has definitely signed for Aprilia in the 2022 season which will be interesting at the very least.
