Today we have the IMSA race at Lime Rock which should be aired at about 21.00 CET or 20.00BST. Should be another excellent race with outstanding race craft on display.

John, The IMSA race was interrupted by a lightning storm past halfway and not restarted due to a rule mandating 30 minutes free of lightning before a restart. It was a very good battle of the two GT classes without a prototype in sight and I attached a highlight film below. I didn't hear why the race was restricted, but the powers that be may have decided the short and extremely fast Lime Rock Park was too risky for a full field. I've seen prototypes race there several times on television and they lap considerably under one minute. Race car driver, artist and architect Sam Posey designed the very attractive main building and Lime Rock was also the home track of Paul Newman.
Cheers, Carl

Carl, I watched quite a bit of the race live but stepped away when the thunderstorm, or to be more accurate the threats of lightening, halted the race. I had thought it was a full IMSA round but as you mention it was for GT cars but none the less interesting. Lime Rock is a great little circuit but one can well understand how prototypes are not run there as there appeared to be little run off areas in some "challenging" places. I do remember from that great film about Paul Newman that we all shared a while back that Lime Rock featured strongly. I had no idea that Sam Posey designed the building you mention, a talented man indeed. Cheers John
