Somehow I thought this race was next weekend… but it wasn’t! Anyway, back in Germany after the race was skipped in 2020. The Sachsenring has been Honda territory for years and nothing seemed to have changed after FP1. Marc Márquez fastest and two other Hondas of Nakagami and Espargaro in 3rd and 4th. Championship leader Quartararo was second. However, FP2 showed a different picture with the fastest Honda in 5th and Márquez only 12th. Catalan race winner Oliveira was fastest on the KTM. Fabio again second and Viñales in 3rd.

Yes René a Honda track like nowhere else and it only has a few right hand bends so less stress on Marc Marquez weak shoulder, or so i am led to believe.
Miguel Oliveira looks very strong again this weekend on the KTM, he certainly is putting the other KTM riders in the shade. I like Brad Binder but he is always a year behind Miguel and I have to say that I think Oliveira is a more complete rider anyway. Good to see Alex Rins going so well after his injury but hope that he stays on the bike this weekend he cannot afford another race crash.
Not a Ducati track, and never has been but Johann Zarco will be in the points I think building his year.

Well, maybe my prediction of a Zarco win wasn’t so strange. Pole position for the Frenchman!

both of you were so accurate in your predictions! isn't it great to see the French guys do so well, albeit in practice, in saying that the victory was stunning and really special, as was 2nd and 3rd, however, the other 3 Yamaha's were dreadful, I do get the feeling Maverick won't be renewing his contract, if asked that is, I know it was a truly remarkable victory and all respect to Marquez, what I cannot bear is the sycophantic commentary, that was just so boring,
moto2 was a lesson from Remy to everyone, this guy could well be the next Aussie MotoGP champion, Sam finished an average 5th on a circuit he cannot get to grips with, and the biggest shame was poor Jake who was having his best race this season only to be taken out by A Fernandez, - gutted but not as much in Moto3, poor John McPhee up there for a good result - pushed back and then involved in someone else's accident and managed to finish 11th, he deserved to win,
still Assen next weekend, hopefully some of these guys will get some good fortune

Well hats off to Marquez for the win, but to be honest he could have won around that fiddly little place with one hand tied behind his back. If one sees his record there it makes one wonder what it is about that place that so suits him.
I have a feeling that if Miguel Oliveira had not got mired behind the very well ridden Aprilia of Aleix Espargaro he would have had something to say about the overall end result, but he tried to catch him and it was just too much.
It has never been a Ducati circuit so their performance was stop be expected, but Yamaha's truly appalling performance was totally unacceptable. Vinales and Morbidelli at the very rear of the field is something that needs immediate scrutiny. In my opinion Maverick should be on his way at the season end his performances have been lamentable, and all excuses should now be done with.
The BTSport coverage, or more accurately the commentary was absolutely dire in my opinion. Gavin Emmett has not enhanced the booth in any way shape or form and he constantly gabbles on about total carp drawing the once very good Neil Hodgson into this whole distraction. So many things were going on track on both days but all they do is gossip like two old fish wives, totally unprofessional.
I thought that Remy Gardner was absolutely outstanding in the Moto2 race, that lad has now fully outgrown the label of "son of" and is a talent in his own right. I have a feeling he could even prove to be better than his famous father. I too thought Jake Dixon was terribly unfortunate Chris, he finally got some of the form back from last season with the change of race engineer and was taken out by someone else. The response from the comedy act in the BT box was that it was his fault, no it bloody well wasn't and that was plain to see.

It could well be so Carl. Then again it could be that there is a sad lack of good commentators available in motor sport. The current trend seems to be that you have to talk endlessly throughout the transmission and rarely pay attention to what is going on visually. John
