I have just read that former Moto3 world champion Danny Kent has been signed by Buildbase Suzuki to race alongside Gino Rea in British Superbikes.
A good move by Stuart Wickens and his team, and very good for Danny after a few troubled years. He began to do well in SuperStocks last year finally winning the last round at Brands Hatch in 2020.
Also excellent news that Gino has got a secure full time deal, could be a team worth watching this coming season.

yes, I saw that John, a wonderful team, I rated Gino very highly in Moto2 especially in the wet and Danny is almost 'reinventing himself' something he needed to do, hopefully won't make the mistakes again, and he is quick, whatever he is he knows how to win, wouldn't it be some tale if he did win a few races?
the whole UK series is shaping up really well, and hopefully I can get to a few rounds this year

Long awaited first round of the BSB Championship this weekend from the excellent and beautiful Oulton Park. Beautiful weather all weekend and some outstanding racing from this ultra competitive championship.
Three races over the weekend and all won superbly by Australian Jason O'Halloran on his Yamaha R1, but very close as Christian Iddon lead all of the races for the majority of the way on his PBM Ducati Panigalli V4 only to loose all three on the last lap. Great performance by Peter Hickman on the FHO Racing BMW whose overall performance was compromised by "arm pump" something Peter has never suffered from previously.
As always a superb presentation by the British Eurosport team, all of whom are outstanding in their roles. I have to say that Rachel Stringer has now really developed into her role and is now by far the best female motor sport presenter in the English speaking world. Jack and the two James' are as ever sublime in the comms box.

yessssss!!! it was brilliant!! John says it so well especially about the commentators, although I would maybe not quite agree about Rachel, as loyalty always reminds me of a certain Scottish lady who was at Wimbledon yesterday, those beautiful tones - ahhhh-
hope to be at Knockhill for the next BSB race, I have tickets just need confirmation and on that circuit BSB is about the most spectacular you can get

truly gutted by the sense the Scottish Government are showing, regrettably I was informed by Knockhill that entrance was restricted to a 1000 spectators and our tickets were no longer valid - so so disappointed but there again I can at least watch it on TV this weekend courtesy of Quest TV, although I will probably still watch it via Eurosport online as I can then watch the Goodwood festival of speed on the other computer, which I saw a bit of yesterday and saw a glorious run by a Brabham BT44B - so evocative and a nice little tribute

Currently pretty pee'd off about this Quest thing having the BSB live this weekend. A while back i could get Quest UK on my computer but it seems that they have done away with that and the only way to get it is through Freeview which ain't applicable to me here in France. Darned annoyed with Eurosport as i pair for a subscription for their service to air BSB and they aren't as other spirts are determined as more popular, garbage! It should be on YouTube, not on a restricted service if they cannot show it.
Have been watching some of the Goodwood Festival, pretty low key if you ask me and has become a parody of what it used to be, sadly as a result of over popularity. I know that I bang on about this but the crowd there today is big and in the midst of this pandemic I see no face masks being worn and social distancing appears to be a thing of the past, let it rip Eh! people.

BSB at Donington is always spectacular and if anyone at anytime wants to get into motorbike racing or return to it, Donington is the place, well, apart from the dreadful weather on Saturday, where one miserable, cold, wet and thoroughly unhappy chappie sort of cheered on Gino win his 1st ever BSB race, and what a victory it was, surely this couldn't be eclipsed?
it was by both MacKenzie boys on Sunday and by Gino himself. Taz Mac on the Yamaha in Race 2, was brilliant, from 10th he just picked off the others one by one, neatly and effectively he was just mighty, but the race of the weekend was surely his big Brother, Taylor Mac in Superstock 1000 from 31st on the grid, he was just on another level to everyone else and just swept through the field like they were on 600's, he really was just incredible, no wonder he was pleased, not quite at this level but after some horrendous downpours, Gino did it again in the 3rd BSB race, all in all a wonderful meeting, and I am still trying to thaw out and stop a cold getting worse

final weekend, the champion wil be crowned, at Brands Hatch, 3 races to decide the winner and the unfortunates, good luck to all - hopefully it will be a great weekend bereft of controversy and accidents, whilst I wish I was there the prospect of a 650 mile round trip [over a 1000 k's] on one of the most boring, dangerous roads in the Uk encourages one to enjoy the Eurosport coverage......actually 2 of the most dangerous etc, anyone who has travelled on the M25 will know exactly what I am talking about.
it is also Taylor MacKenzie's last race in Superstock so all the very best to him, everyone is guessing his future is behind the microphone so good luck with that

Great weekends finalé at Brands Hatch, just hope the weather stays fine and we have one of those glorious Indian Summer conditions that often happens at Brands in October. Sadly so far it has been damp and I sit typing this half an hour before Race One on Saturday.
Four riders in with a chance of the title so tensions will be high.
Jack Burnacle still away from the commentary box for British Eurosport with an annoying cough apparently, something i can sympathise with as it is also affecting me. Must say that although I was critical of Keith Heuwen when he was commentating on MotoGP for BT, he has been back to his better self standing in for Jack.

my word what an end to the season that was, many many congratulations to Taz MacKenzie who was just head and shoulders above everyone else apart from maybe Tommy, and was joined on the podium by his Dad who had won his championship 25 years ago and his retiring elder brother Taylor, and for a real insight into lost dreams and potential Taylor's youtube thingy about why he retired at 28 is an amazing and truly heartfelt piece, although many of us don't think this will be the last we hear of Taylor as it looks like a golden future beckons in commentary
and commiserations to Jason, who until the 'showdown' was so quick and brilliant and must feel robbed, winning 11 races and not the championship must hurt,
apparently there are something like 153 days until Snetterton - oh well, starting to count now, and what looks to be one of the biggest shake up of riders since - a couple of years ago anyway, will Chaz or Tom be in the BSB paddock next year? one hold's one's breath......
