"I am torn, on the one hand Lewis did incredibly well to get into F1 and was brilliant on the way up to that McLaren seat and his ethnicity brought much joy to me - his determination to overcome financial and racial barriers to be one of the richest sportsman in the world is a story I enjoy"
Chris, I agree 100% with the above. It is exactly what made me support LH right at the beginning when he first joined F1. Somehow though, for me, it seemed to go downhill from then on and I am very sad about that, I wish it weren't so. I agree that Jim Clark would have handled it in a way more to our liking, but maybe we are too old school. I don't know but I do know that this season is doing a damn good job of destroying my joy for F1.

thanks Rob,
for me it is the last few years that put more nails in my enthusiasm than anything else, I wasn't the biggest fan of the V8's but this MB fest is just enthusiasm draining

I have been reading that Fizzy Drinks were going to place Nico Hulkenberg in the second car at the Nurburgring as Alex Albon had an inconclusive Covid test, fortunately for Alexander the second test proved negative and he was good to go. Marko has subsequently stated that Nico is a possibility for 2021 if they feel the need to stand Albon down.
He did however state afterwards that whoever was in the car they would always be three tenths of a second down on Max, the dear Doctor really does like to blow smoke up Verstappen's rear end doesn't he. Marko was using the time differences (his I might add) between Max and Ricciardo when they were team mates as a reference to his thoughts. If that is the case and we wish to be really silly how about saying that with Leclerc being consistently over half a second quicker than Sebastian and the latter being usually quicker than Ricciardo at RB once the car was sorted, then that would make Charles at least two tenths quicker than Max; viola!
Basically what Marko is saying anyone coming to Fizzy Drinks are going to be a number two.
Also it appears that the team are hoping to buy up the Honda engine plant and run the power unit as there own from 2022, with Honda's blessing, maybe a sort of Mugen idea.
