Yamaha was pretty strong last weekend, but during the race the leaders did not make it to the podium. Franco Morbidelli took the victory after an impressive performance. Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir completed the podium. Suzuki rider Mir seems to be one of the dangerous outsiders for the world title at the moment. He scored the most points in the last three races. For Andrea Dovizioso and Fabio Quartararo, it will be important to get their hunt for the world title back on track. Both men are favorites for the world title due to the absence of Marc Marquez, but they have also shown to be quite unstable.

well if practice is anything to go by it will be one great race, with so many contenders not only for the race win but for the championship, this is going to be one bumpy ride.
Honda's woes continue with yet another rider out injured, Bradl getting all pumped up and missing this weekend,
I have gone for Fabio, quickest and also very intelligent, I do not know what is happening with Maverick he just seems to be going off and losing a number of plots, Franky must be up there as well as do the Suzuki's and Johan.

what a brilliant and exciting race, full of contrasts and great rides, mistakes and follies, well done Maverick, good ride by Muir so sad for Pecca but this will come, someone else somewhere else says basically because Marquez isn't there they all lack competition, I have news for you, this new bunch aren't intimidated by you Marc, and maybe we are seeing a new set of Emperor's clothes.

Chris, I missed Race 1 at Misano but totally agree about Race 2. What an exciting race! Rossi rode brilliantly but was hoist by his own academy students, just missing a historic podium but it will come. The announcers declared several times that Morbidelli was faultless in Austria, but I accept the consensus here that he should have seen the collision coming.

I thought it was sad Rossi wasn't on the podium with his protege's that would have been a very emotional scene and a fitting tribute that even Rossi has to realise his chances of number 10 are somewhat remote - Last weekend's race was interesting, Maverick getting his mojo working, but Jack's retirement was apparently due to one of Fabio's tear offs blocking an air filter, oops
Austria puzzles me, scares me, relieves me and I am just so happy no one was seriously injured, Mat Oxley has done some very good pieces online and one thing that does come across is that the FIA don't like Zarco
