Figurine- small historical figures normally made of white metal but increasingly resin. There are various scales but I normally assemble and paint the ones ranging from 54mm to 90 mm high.

figurine painting, ah now I do know what you were talking about- my apologies, before I took a break and during the lockdown I had to visit someone at home for various reasons and they had the most incredible collection of figurines I had seen, can't say too much obviously but they were very impressive and varied,

I look forward to hearing your views on the Don Nichols book, Rob. Tried a while ago to navigate the MS site and to read some snippets but goodness me what have they done to the format, it is bloody horrendous. Totally unintuitive to my way of thinking and sod all on there anyway except for Mat Oxley's bit about the proposed Isle Of White road races which look to be of real interest.

JC, there is a clip on utub with James Haydon and Steve Plater riding around the IoW proposed circuit and Mat Oxley is promoting this, looks fantastic,

although interchanging my motor racing reading with novels, please CJ Sansom may we have another book please, I picked up an unusual book by Peter Garnier of Autocar fame about the 1963 Monaco GP and it is as fascinating as it is informative, one of those books that are full of snippets and info that I was not aware of and although his writing style isn't Jenks it is still a very good read

Chris,
Peter Garnier wrote some very good material back in those days, many of my early motor sport books were written by him as he was quite prolific in those times.
On another front I was buying something on Amazon yesterday and began looking at some books. The Richie Ginther soft back as talked about by Rob above has got some very good reviews, but £27.00 is pretty steep for a soft back.

John, I too have the Richie book, he certainly was a character, but it left me 'wanting more'

Ritchie Ginther started as the chief mechanic for his friend Phil Hill in the days of Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines and seemed more comfortable out of the limelight. A fine driver, almost a great one, he was a quiet man.
