To be clear Chris, those points about Carlos were not mine but those placed on a channel in YouTube. The comparison with Jensen Button was not in respect of driving style or ability, but it was about them having such excellent promotional ability. We all know that Jensen was a sponsors delight, and apparently the same is true of Carlos, they just do the business in front of a camera or an audience.
In another front I have the feeling that it will come to pass that Sebastian Vettel will eventually retire, hopefully not from racing completely as he still has a lot to offer and he remains relatively young.
I was going to throw this out as a possibility for it seemed very different to the scenarios being offered by those in the media. The thought that Bottas would move to Renault alongside the other MB refugee Esteban Ocon and Sebastian would join MB alongside Lewis Hamilton. It is my understanding that it was both MB and Sebastian to team up and what better than having a multiple German WC in the team.
The thought of conflict between Lewis and Sebastian in such an environment isn't necessarily how it might play out, as it all a matter of how the drivers play it out. For Sebastian he would be very aware that he was going into Lewis' team and that if he came up short then it would be understandable, but there is the chance that he will have his day of days as well. To Lewis he wouldn't care either way as he will feel that Sebastian has his weakness' and he could capitalise on them. Everyone and their dog would expect Hamilton to reign, but a confident and relaxed Vettel combined with a few DNF's for Lewis and the game would be on.
Moving on their was talk last evening that Stroll was preparing to pay off Perez to make way for Sebastian especially as it will become Aston Martin. The thought was that he could teach Lance (what it remains unclear as there is only so much an average talent can absorb) and build his career from there. Personally I think that Seb would destroy Stroll without breaking sweat, so that wouldn't work.
