this annual event at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry is heralded as the biggest retro show of the year and certainly not a bad place to start your annual motor racing viewing at.
I have many pictures [23] of the event but as usual am struggling to upload them, why technology and I should be so far away from each other is beyond me, age perhaps? probably more about ineptitude
there are some clips on utub of the rally stages which were very good and I got to see a T16 in action for the first time since 1986 and some of the more modern cars were brilliant, must try and get to the RAC or whatever it is called - the WRC2 cars are a hoot, quick, handle brilliantly, look good and noisy, we like noisy and to meet that the Subaru's and Cossie Escorts made plenty of that
inside there was COB1 which looked splendid, and the exhibition of cars was ok, no 1950's F1 cars - no 250F's - but it started with a Lotus 24 and I am not sure I have seen one this close, what was disappointing was not seeing John Fitzpatrick, not sure what happened there, but did see Didier Auriol and Andy Wallace, Didier proving very adept and actually drove on the rally course as well, but the piece de resistance is probably my all-time favourite Jag, the XJ13, and it is beautiful, again I have photos and again I haven't a clue how to post them which I do abjectly apologise for but it does seem beyond my understanding, honestly I find psychology easier - ach well

thanks Rene, i will try and understand the simple to some and complicated to me concept of reducing photo's to 1 MB, honestly for me understanding people's predicaments is far easier!

Great stuff Chris! Thank you so much for sharing and taking the effort to figure this photo thing out! It works perfect like this. Some impressive machinery there from all different eras. I could spend hours at that show.

Excellent work Chris, lovely photo of the Lotus 24 and the Russel Brookes tribute. What a shame they had to ruin the Lotus with that horrid roll over bar.
My big fear is that they will insist upon having Halo's on historic next, if they do that I will loose interest in cars completely.

to a certain degree that is why I think motor bike racing is getting a bigger audience - it is so less sanatised and still genuinley scary- and anyone from a large number of riders have a chance of winning
I hadn't seen the 24 up close and so personal and it was quite emotionally incredible, I can see why Trevor Taylor felt Jimmy would have been WDC in 62 had he stayed with the 24, personally I am pleased for BRM as I think from 59 onwards they had done well
I have some more photos to upload when I get a chance
