Summer break is over, also for the MotoGP guys. And where better to restart the racing than in the heart of Italy, the home race for both Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso who won the race last year. To keep the championship alive he would need to do that again but Marc Márquez also knows how to win here. Alex Rins is riding strong and Maverick Viñales and Fabio Quartararo were both very fast in free practice. Anything can happen.

brilliant,
the Yams look mighty and the Mav is back on song, although there was a sense of anti-climax for some reason this weekend, maybe it the calculating riding of Marquez - I'm not sure,i do think the race will be cracker as it is very tiring, but the Quad for pole and the Mav for victory

sadly not, a very ruthless win for Marquez, initially I thought he had brake tested Quat on the last lap but now realise it was the Yamaha was just so much quicker at certain points, disappointment for the Mav and Valle, but kudos to Quat, he really is something special.
Mat Oxley writes yet another very good article on the MS forum, shame about some of the comments, but he explains why Quat is worrying Marquez and is basically quicker than the factory Yams, wonder when they sign him and consign Valle to WSB?
the controversial coming together - yet again, of Valle and Marquez has left me a bit puzzled and bemused, was it a deliberate attempt by Marquez to destablise Valle, or a 'misunderstanding?'

Marquez was always going to win wasn't he, he says he was particularly inspired to do so thanks to the previous days antics with Rossi. Not a big fan of either so I am commenting from a relatively unbiased perspective here; I feel that Marquez was the one out of order, no matter what his protestations. He claims that he didn't know he had exceeded track limits, which Colin Edwards refuted very strongly on BT Sport with the comment "he knew, anyone would".
I think Master Marquez has p*ssed quite a few off this season by following fast riders to get a good qualifying lap and that was a result of the same. His overtake on Valentino Rossi was crude and illustrated his petulance for which Rossi merely returned the compliment.
Valentino is still a big asset to MotoGP but he is not really worthy of the factory Yamaha ride if one really analyses his performances this season, or last for that matter. He is still a very good rider but when one sees what young Fabio is doing the questions should now have answers; the same was true with Johann Zarco last year he was the one who should have been on the factory machine. Maybe Rossi should run his own team with factory support if he wishes to continue, that would be a win, win situation for all.
It might also be advisable for Jorge Lorenzo to take a year off in 2020 and get himself fully fit, and then return in '21 on a Yamaha or Suzuki, that would put the cat among the pigeons. Just can't help wondering what Jorge would have done on that Suzuki this year, I like Alex Rins but I do not think Jorge would have thrown it down the road last weekend.

now that Zarco is a free agent, what a wonderfully refreshing individual he is proving to be, and just how short some folks's memories are, on a Yam he would be up there and imagine two Frenchman taking it to Marquez, wonderful, really hope he gets a decent ride straight away
Well Marquez has gone on record actually saying that, he was inspired to take it to the Yam's because of the clash, what bugs me is that he gets away with it, and that encourages more of this type of behaviour, he does remind me of Michael with his ruthless intelligence and application, he will win as he is prepared to 'do that little bit extra' which is either incredible bravery or sheer arrogance and self-belief that he won't get hurt and of course he has been in the past. His cunning in qualifying gets him behind someone else going quickly on their last lap to pick up on their laps and just beats it, Bautista used to do that and M2 +3 do it all the time and it is just so blxxdy annoying, but of course in Dorna's eyes he can do no wrong,
I am not a Marquez the rider fan, as a human being away from the track seems quite the opposite, again, reminds me of Michael, I am a fan of what Rossi has achieved but his riding style is not my favourite, but he is gearing up to running a GP team, but his preferences will always be Italian, although if Morbidelli went to Rossi then maybe Zarco could go to Petronas? I still wonder if Rossi will end up at WSB or retire but I agree that a younger lion may bring better results, I also wonder if VDS are planning a return to GP, not sure why I get that feeling and may well be totally wrong, but a VDS run Suzuki with Zarco on board would definitely better the factory riders, talking of which, I have not warmed to Rins, although I am not a fan of Jorge the person, I do like the way he rides a bike and to see him on a Suzy would be great and the faster more consistent performer
