Márquez looks almost unbeatable by now! Fastest in all sessions by quite a margin but the fight for second is very close. The Ducatis look fast and Vinales is also on form. If the race is only half as exciting as the F1 Grand Prix on this track, then it will be a good one (who would have thought I would say that earlier in the year! )

We desperately need someone to take it to Marquez, if only to shut up the inane drivel that is becoming the norm of the BT Sport presentation team. Today they have been raving about what a great season it is, especially since the return from the summer break. What!!!!!
In all probability Bt Sport are now employing a certain Dominic Cummings during his spare time to spin the whole product.
Apparently the Yamaha's have good one lap pace but will fade during the race due to a lack of top speed and tyre wear issues, that is a shame as Quartatro and Maverick look quick.
Just go back 12 months and we had that great race between Marquez and Lorenzo on the Ducati, where did it all go wrong.

thank you Rene, on current form no one is getting anywhere near Marquez and MotoGP commentators have reverted back to sycophantic adulation, he is so far away from anyone else - it makes the Lorenzo discussion even more important,
however, we have seen many a favourite fall short and I am not convinced this year is a done deal, so as I am not in I will stay in hope

well, what an astonishing race! go Dovi go, brilliant, as if he suddenly woke up and realised he was under pressure and showed the world yet again he is a class act and Quattararo was fantastic, a briiliant race
the Moto3 race was again so exciting and well done bad boy Fenati, but even better done wee John McPhee, brilliant last corner
I do like this long lap penalty - it really does focus the attention, you are not going to be such a bad boy with that threat
the MotoE race was interesting, but the hysterical antics of the pubescent youth jarred
amongst many worries was the sight of BCE shaking hands and a guest of Dorna, not good...
lovely tribute to Niki at the Ring, nice and respectful

It was a good race today in MotoGP aided by Dovi obviously with a bee in his bonnet, and Marquez picking the incorrect rear tyre for the conditions. None the less a great win for Ducati and Dovi who pulled off an outstanding move in the last corner to out Marquez, Marquez!
A superb ride by young Quartararo on what was very obviously an out powered Yamaha M1, such a shame that he cannot fight with the others because of that. He did put the factory boys in their place which just begs the question what the hell are they doing, and well might Jarvis look like a carbon copy of "Citron Chops" Marko.
Also a brilliant performance by Miguel Oliveira on the Tec3 KTM; that boy has talent which makes me wonder what he would have done on a Yamaha.
According to the BT Sport team Dovi had a big row with Gigi in the Czech Republic about the bike which did not go down well. It appears that the designer has a huge regard for Jorge Lorenzo having worked with him years ago in the lower categories when at Aprilia, so he may well be someone who is happy to get the Majorcan back, while others are less so. To me it is a no brainer he has to return especially seeing the recent performances of Petrucci.
Jack Miller is crying onto his sleeve about his position not being confirmed, but in all honesty who would you rather have on the bike Miller or Lorenzo. Jack's pathetic jibe about Lorenzo being away in the Maldives on holiday in the early Press Conference backed up by the sniggers of the other members there was pathetic, just like little school girls. If you have a serious back injury you don't go flaming rock climbing do you!
Chris, as much as I despise the machine gun psuedo Cockney gabble of Heuwen on BT, the sound of those two idiots on the official site is like nails down a chalk board, I cannot stand the sound of them at any price.

I still need to watch the Moto GP race as I missed it yesterday and recorded DTM at Brands so had to wait for a later slot to record the GP.
I did watch Moto 3 and Moto 2. I really enjoyed them both, especially Moto 2 as Brad Binder won, having lead almost the whole race. At one point I did wonder if Adrian Newey had done some aero work on the KTM as everybody behind seemed to fall off when they got close!!

Sometimes we enjoy an abundance of choices! How was the race at Brands Hatch? CBS Sports channel described it as taking place at Brands Hatch in Northern Ireland. Eventually I figured out that, having broadcast several well-known Northern Ireland motorcycle races, the network now either believes that DTM is another, or else may think all racing occurs there. In any case, being confused, I didn't watch.
Good observation about the Moto2 race and those close behind the KTM bikes. Some more charitable than I feel we should forgive Adrian Newey, but I say ignorance of the laws of aerodynamics is no excuse and to create dirty air is at least a misdemeanor.
Cheers, Carl

Well the MotoGP "Silly Season" has proved to be just that. It now appears that Jorge Lorenzo will stay with Honda and that "Whining Jack" will also stay at Pramac Ducati. However the news has come through today that Johan Zarco will now only stay at KTM to the end of 2019, the original two year deal has been mutually ended, he may not even complete the season. A truly terrible decision by his ex-manager to place him with the Austrian marque, I just hope it hasn't ended this very talented riders MotoGP career. The Moto2 race was indeed a cracker and brought a brilliant home win for the superb Brad Binder, a classy ride if ever there was. KTM have also announced that they will not have a factory team in Moto2 in 2020, obviously feeling they need to concentrate on sorting the GP bike out which will not come soon enough. Edit. My last para was meant to read a home win for KTM & Fizzy Drink, not Brad who is South African, brilliant of course just like his fellow countryman the amazing Kork Ballington.

I have now watched the Moto GP race and what a cracker it was. I am not sure if I could have stood the tension if I had seen it live. I enjoy Desmo Dovi and Ducati so it was a good day for me. I still need to watch the DTM 2nd race at BH. I enjoyed the first but yesterday I was watching England v Wales at Twickers.
A good sporting weekend for me for a big change what with the Moto races being excellent, Spurs winning at home and the Boks winning the rugby championship and NZ getting taught a lesson by Australia though to be honest I supprt any team that plays against those two.

The Moto3 race was superb, Fenati doing what we know he is capable of and yet I am driven by my misgivings, the sight of one Mr BE sent shivers down my back, and why oh why did Dorna invite him there, also the aero packages, and whilst a witty remark about Adrian Newey - there is something in this for me, a worry amongst other things, but we will see,
Dovi has a habit of beating Marquez in these scraps and it just makes me wonder why is he so good at these fights and yet seems to cruise elsewhere. How good is Miller? or Petrucci, come to that, one thing is certain neither are as good as Lorenzo, the 2021 grid will be amusing
really not surprised to hear Zarco's news, it would be a real travesty if he doesn't get a decent ride next year, I would love to see him on the Suzy and am sure he would win more than one GP - fingers crossed that for once sense prevails and not nationality
Rob, I am sorry I didn't realise you were a Tottenham fan, as a LFC member I can only smile, but now the Boks must be near favourites,
The Aussies hammering the All-Blacks? whatever next? Scotland winning the world cup?

Enjoyed the MotoGP this weekend and also the DTM from Brands, great to see Dovi come out on top in a straight fight. I wanted to go to the DTM race on Sunday but I had a free ticket to West Ham on the Saturday and couldn’t get away with being absent all weekend 😁
I definitely got it the wrong way round as the Hammers were given a footballing lesson by Man City (they look frighteningly good going forward) and my beloved Brands Hatch looked superb bathed in sunshine on the TV.......I regret not going now.

Chris I have been a Spurs supporter since the 60s but they are a bit like Ferrari, you never know what you are going to get on the day. I have noticed though that Spurs seem to choke towards the end of a season and am not sure why. Congrats re LFC they had a great season and deserved their success, just a pity they didn't beat Man City to the title.
I must say that Scotland winning the RWC holds great appeal. If the Boks can't then hopefully Scotland or France or anybody except NZ or Australia.
I try not to hate anyone or at least for not too long but the mere mention of BCE, let alone a picture really gets the bile rising. Odious little man. I think it is time for a generation change in motorsport.

There is an interesting article on the MotorSport site re Ducati's lack of man management. I think they are using the Dr Marko stick and stick approach on their riders.

Rob, I always think of Spurs as a team with flair and style, so due respect for them, it was a real tragedy that Man City won all that they did, money really does buy happiness and Guardiola is one incredible manager, but we live on in hope and fingers crossed for tonight's super-cup game
wouldn't it be a hoot if Scotland did win? although your Boks are looking mighty and my bet for success, especially with the Aussies having just hammered the All-blacks, but am really looking forward to the cup,
what worried me more about BE is his lack of ageing and it did make wonder if he has a portrait at home that shows his age and his 'er history....but why would you invite him to the Austrian MotoGP?

I am not sure about after the Lord Mayors show, more like after the Ducati exhibition of man management skills, Miller has signed an extension for another year with Pramac- mmm, a year? that could be interesting, my word talk about pre-empting next year's gossip columns - oh dear and Smithy is racing in M2, wonder if Scott fancies a ride on a spare Honda?
