A classic on the calender, the TT track always guarantees good racing. The undisputed king of the Assen circuit is Valentino Rossi but can 'Il Dottore' create some magic again? It's already two years since he last won here in Assen. Márquez looks already set for another title but everything is still possible if Dovi/Ducati get some strong results. Also watch out for Rins and Quartararo! By the way, our poll has been copied on several sites! Attachments:

Not quite the original Cathedral of Speed, but like Spa Francorchamps it is a good modern rendition and still a great circuit for motorcycle racing. Looking forward to this far more than the F1 event in Austria; and even more so the BSB round later in the year.
I would love to see young Quartararo win but think there is a way to go yet with him and his team. My money is on Alex Rins on the Suzuki. He has looked strong all year but just needs to get stuck in from the start; the bike is a glorious machine with sweet handling and ever improving power from its engine. Oh! How Vinales must wish he had stayed at Suzuki now.

really looking forward to this, again spoiled for choice, BSB at the idiosyncratic Knockhill, which will certainly amuse Scott, MotoGP at the slightly reduced Cathedral of speed and having been there I can testify what a great circuit it is with some fantastic fans and more importantly a great atmosphere that just generates speed and thrills, oh, and some sort of circus event in Austria that is awfully expensive but unexciting - nahhh won't bother with that one, 5 mins highlight on utub will probably suffice as the total amount of excitement
I have gone for Rossi but I have a sneaky feeling Mav the Ick is will romp this one, but watch out world Lorenzo is getting it together and not to be underestimated, Marquez will be there as will be Dovi and I am not sure about Rins, smooth and efficient, he starts far too back for me, Miller is out to prove he is worthy of the works seat - the forecast is hot, so we will see if all the claims of improvement will change things or not.
hey Rene, are you going to have to patent some of your designs? eeh is that a compliment or what?

this is just amazing, I wonder how Zarco is feeling about giving up that bike...
just watched the Moto2 + 3 - races, astonishing - competitive and a bit on the aggressive side, but so so exciting, unbelievable races, now getting nervous for the GP, but what a circuit, doesn't it just make the difference,

I was pleased to see Maverick win after a very good ride, he certainly had the measure of Marquez on a track that suited the Yamaha. Unfortunately young Fabio Quartararo had a restless night preceding the race with great pain in his arms and it was then compounded by a very strange handling characteristic on his Yamaha that prevented him taking what in all probability would have been an easy victory.
Fabio's bike was shaking its head even upon the straights in a most alarming way causing him to close the throttle mid straight on many occasions. He did exceptionally well to bring it home in third place, a very impressive ride.
Not the most exciting race, especially after Alex Rins lost the front while leading on his Suzuki, shame as he was my tip for the win. apparently he has no idea what caused the crash. However it was very windy at Assen for race day and I think this may have e created some of the problems the riders encountered.

What I wasn't aware of is that the Mav and Marquez do not like each other and that was an extra pleasure for Maverick, but Fabio explained he was partially responsible for the tank slappers as was riding to the far edge and it was only after Maverick overtook him that he took a different line and the wobbles reduced but his arm must have been in agony, and I wonder how he is doing for Germany this weekend? the other thing is his team-mate - earmarked as Rossi's successor at Yamaha, now what? Morbidelli is having a great season by normal standards but by comparison to Fabio, it must look mediocre, what was worrying for all Rossi fans was his performance, that doesn't bode well
The Rins crash I think deprived us of a great race, but you have to hand it to Marquez, not the best Honda track but still finished 2nd, that is impressive, but well done to the Mav, when it works it really works and when it doesn't....
